Different page number from different sources

On the copyright page of this book there is a note: "A catalogue record for this book is available from the British Library". I searched for this ISBN on BL: http://explore.bl.uk/primo_library/li...... even the BL listed the book as 317 pages. But it is actually only 250 pages.
Looks like a different edition to me. You can see the 2018 on your picture, whereas the Goodreads edition you linked to is from 2003. It's not uncommon for the same ISBN to be used, and for editions to have different font and margin sizes, which can increase or reduce the number of pages.

Here is a photo of the copyright page: https://i.imgur.com/xZDOK6D.jpg
It says "paperback edition 2003". The printer's key is "38", which meaning this is the 38th printing of the edition. I don't think such a book can be printed 38 times in 4 months in 2018.
Yes, but they update the books. Yours is a new copy from 2018, which means they may have made changes to the formatting, resulting in the discrepancy between page numbers.
What is the policy of Goodreads to this kind of situation? Two books have identical ISBN and cover, but the page number differs. It bothers me... :-(
It's clear that over the past 15 years, multiple printings have been published with that ISBN and different page counts.
Is your cover exactly the same as the one shown here with that ISBN? Because we can add another edition with a different page count, but if the cover is the same it will most likely end up getting deleted as a duplicate.

Yes the cover is exactly the same: https://i.imgur.com/kX8TuXp.jpg
The copyright page says it's a 2003 version with exact the same ISBN: https://i.imgur.com/xZDOK6D.jpg (linked above)
But the book only has 250 pages.

I just bough this paperback from Amazon. The book is of the same ISBN as linked, but the page number differs. Here is a photo I just took: https://i.imgur.com/pSEqE2x.jpg
As you can see, my paperback has a page number of 250. The page with number "1" is Chapter I, and there is no foreward.
However, the page number is different on other sources:
- On the Amazon page, https://www.amazon.com/dp/0007136838/ , the book is listed as 224 pages;
- On the Goodreads page, the book is listed as 317 pages;
- On WorldCat, there are multiple results: http://www.worldcat.org/search?q=bn%3...
Is it possible that the same ISBN is re-used for multiple editions of the same book so different sources have different page numbers? I am paticularly interested in this because page number the essential factor to keep progress update accurate.
