Such a bittersweet ending. The reunion at the end of the book was so sad in that Abdullah doesn't have the capacity to recognize his sister. I thought there might be even one moment where he would recognize her and they would truly reconnect, but I guess that is a reflection of how Alzheimer's affects people/relationships.I really enjoyed the structure of the book, and how it hops around in time and is told from the different generations of the same family. The earlier chapters were had the best character development. There were a couple of later chapters, mostly about Markos, that kind of lost my focus, but overall this was a very interesting book, glad I read it!
