Laura Herzlos I just got mine converted to pdf (because searching is annoying on my Kindle) and will open it when I get home. Yes, that will be my contribution to science. I will find us poxy whores.

However, at the first glance on my Kindle I can tell you that "poxy" seemed like a common insult of sorts, as though only the low classes got pox. I've seen (in a preliminary search) poxy Tym, poxy whore, poxy brats, poxy whelps, poxy peasants and that's only the first glance. But yes, there are several on whore and bitch.

I will look for the Brienne chapter that Katherina mentions when I get home and I'll get the quotes.

Philina Thank you very much, Laura!

Philina "The Pox - The pox is described as some sort of sexually transmitted disease. In the books, Merrett Frey catches the pox from a whore and spreads it through Lord Crakehall's camp. We also hear about a whore who gives some of Randyll Tarly's men the pox. Based on its description and classification as a "pox," it's real world equivalent is likely syphilis or herpes." Toviel Pfft. Leave it to reddit to find the poxy whores.

Laura Herzlos :-D I was going to open it, but I see the poxy whores have been found. Had to be reddit! :-D

Philina So that would be a pointer into the Tyrion Targaryen direction. And the whole Joanna thing is quite convincing. He repeated it in more detail in the World of Ice and Fire and people say whatever Martin repeats is important.

I'm not sure if I believe that theory, though. Or if I want to believe it... Would that make Dany, Jon and Tyrion the three heads of the dragon? Could Tyrion ride a dragon if he cannot even ride a horse without a special saddle? I really like Tyrion, but this just does not feel "right"...

Toviel If Tyrion is Targaryen, I don't see him getting any dragon riding action, tbh. If anything, I see him becoming Dany's Hand or something some point in the future. After all, his similarities to Tywin in intelligence have been repeated quite a few times, too.

GRRM said in an interview that the third head didn't need to be a Targaryen. Why would he say that, if he was going to make the three of them Targaryens?

Matthew Williams Laura wrote: "Phil wrote: "So that would be a pointer into the Tyrion Targaryen direction. And the whole Joanna thing is quite convincing. He repeated it in more detail in the World of Ice and Fire and people sa..."

Because he's a slippery bastard who wants to screw with his reader's heads! This is the guy that killed Ned, Robb, AND Oberyn, don't forget. And every time someone asks him when the next book is coming, he threatens Tyrion. NOTHING HE SAYS CAN BE TRUSTED!

Alright, that's enough mock-ranting. I think Laura is correct. I think that if the series has indicated anything at this point, it's that characters outside of Daenerys are touched by fate and will play a key role. Jon Snow certainly seems like a viable candidate, and I am inclined to agree with the people who believe Tyrion is too.

Aegon could be, but his late introduction and the way many are placing their hopes in him suggests to me that he won't be a front-runner. Martin has also demonstrated twice (with Viserys and Stannis) that those thought to be Azor Ahai never are, and the unexpected end up becoming the heroes in the end.

Well that settles that then. It seems Martin DID include STDs in his world - his dirty, dark, ugly, smelly and realistic world! ;)

Gehayi I thought that moon tea was an abortifacient, not a contraceptive. If so, taking it once a month when she should have her period would cause miscarriage--and the miscarriage would be mistaken for her menses.

No, it is contraceptive. You can add other stuff in it to make it abortive, as was quoted earlier in this thread. Note that Lysa Arryn (Tully) lists what she drank to abort, and it wasn't only moontea. Note also that Cersei knew moontea, but she took something else to abort Robert's baby.

"cooties"? Really? Some may find that offensive. I'd think a mid-twenties Danish girl would be a bit more mature than that. *shrug*
