Rebecca | 215 comments This month our challenge is to delve into the past by reading a book that takes place before the year 1900. This is quite a wide open challenge, no need to limit oneself to strictly historical fiction! You can go an alternate history route with Bernard Cornwell or with Naomi Novik's Temeraire series. There’s always Victorian steampunk sci-fi or regency romance. The possibilities are endless.

As we’re gearing up for Summer Reading, I’d like to push my reading a little bit and read some traditional historical fiction (it’s been awhile), by reading the well-researched and acclaimed Katherine of Aragon, The True Queen by Alison Weir.

Katherine of Aragón, The True Queen (Six Tudor Queens, #1) by Alison Weir

What era are you visiting? What’s happening? Let us know!

Happy Reading!

I'm going to be reading Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare. It's the last book in a series I have been reading.

Kris Patrick | 4 comments For this challenge I will be reading A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libby Bray. It is set in 1895. It is a YA book that has some crossover appeal and got good reviews.
