Apocalypse
Name: Nick Kinnon
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Appearance: https://i.pinimg.com/736x/81/86/7f/81...
Traits: Guarded, protective, quiet
Background: As the apocalypse started a few years back, Nick was just trying to finish up high school. He was the only child of a single mom who worked as a doctor, mainly doing research. He played all sorts of high school sports and could’ve gone on to college if the apocalypse hadn’t gotten in the way.
As soon as the virus or whatever that was causing the dead to reanimate began to show, Nick’s mom was immediately curious and wanted to learn about it and cure it if she could. It was far away though. So she left Nick home so he could finish school and went off to start working. He finished school but She hadn’t returned by the time the virus began getting closer and closer to home to the point where safe places were being set up in the big cities, walling them off from the rest of the world in hopes of staying safe. Once the zombies began showing up in Nick’s hometown, he chose he couldn’t stay any longer. He had to try and find his mom or get into one of the safe cities so he packed up some stuff and left. (I don’t know if this is any good or not, just thought it might be a good background. We can adjust it if you had a different idea on timing or whatnot)
I’ll adjust the ages or whatever else i need to for it to be similar to yours.

Name: Tarzan
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Appearance:

Traits: Curious, gentle, protective

Apocalypse
Name: Anya Russo
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Appearance:

Traits: Strong, stubborn, opinionated, brave
Background: Anya was living on her own far before the apocalypse hit. She had actually been homeless when the zombies first started making it into her city. It was almost fortunate, considering she had already had experience in scrounging for food and protecting herself.
Her parents disappeared when she was twelve, leaving her to care for her little brother. Her parents had always been deeply into drugs and it wasn't that surprising when they stopped coming home, but she was still too young to care for herself and her brother. They were separated but managed to stay in the same general area for many years. When the zombies started showing up Anya was already 18 and had lost her place in her group home. Her brother was only 14 and had been taken with his foster family to a "safe zone" across the country. Anya is determined to find him.
((I think their ages are fine!))

Nick sighed and took a breath as he drove into the next town he’d marked in the map sitting beside him. He had an old beat up Jeep that was still running and had a decent mile per gallon range. He was able to find a little bit of gas in most every town so he was able to get pretty far at least. The car also helped because he could keep his supplies in it and sleep in it and just have a bit of a protected space with him at all times.
He found a place near the center of town to park his car where it was somewhat hidden so it should stay safe while he did a bit of exploring and searching for supplies. He killed the engine and got out, shutting the door quietly behind him. He looked around and started walking.

~
Anya set her sights on the man that had gotten out of his Jeep. The sound of it had alerted her and now she just needed to make sure it hadn't alerted any of the zombies in the area. Thus far this little town didn't seem to have many zombies wandering about, probably because there hadn't been many people here in the first place.
She had been there for almost a week after having twisted her ankle. It was healed now and she was planning to head out when she heard the Jeep. It had been weeks since she had seen another living person, so she decided to investigate. Maybe she'd even share some of her stockpile of food if this person needed it, considering she had found quite a lot in one of the houses in this town. Fortunately, it didn't appear that the Jeep had altered any zombies, so she slowly moved along, following the boy.

~~~~
Nick looked around the town, glancing at the various buildings and homes that were close to what seemed to be the Main Street. He’d learned that most stores and places like that had been ransacked early on so he looked for the more isolated buildings that looked like they might not have anything. He started walking quietly, not sure how many zombies there were but he didn’t want to alert any of them to his presence. He headed towards a house but glanced back when he thought he heard someone following behind him.
~~~
Anya quickly hid behind a dumpster when the boy turned to look in her direction. Fortunately, it didn't seem that he had noticed her yet and he also wasn't heading in the direction of her hideout. She knew that the house he was about to go into was just full of dead zombies, and stunk to the high heavens.
She waited until he was almost at the doorstep before she stepped from behind the dumpster, deciding to spare him the stench. "You probably don't want to go in there. You're not going to find anything but corpses. If you're looking for food I can help you out," she said, just loud enough that he might here, but definitely no where near a shout.

~~~
Nick looked around quietly as he walked. The quiet was somewhat nice, allowing for more small noises to be heard. But it was more unsettling than anything when some places used to always be full of noise and now they’re just eerily silent. He jumped slightly at the clear voice behind him. Nick turned, reaching for his firearm out of habit.
He looked over the girl and nodded at her words. He glanced back at the building for a moment before looking back to her and walking over. “Just was gonna look for some resources. Not necessarily food, I’ve got a slight stockpile currently.” He shrugged and wondered how long she’d been watching him. Nick kept his hand resting lightly on the firearm just in case she chose to try and attack him.
He tilted his head to the side as he examined the creature. There was something about him that Tarzan almost liked but he wasn't able to describe that feeling. The creature just had a pleasant look about him.
~~~
Anya nodded in understanding, her hand on her own firearm in case he decided to pull any stunts. "What kind of resources are you searching for? I might be able to help. I've been here for about a week resting up and I know where all the good stuff is hidden. There are a few zombies that I've seen wander in, but not many. One of those perks of small towns, I guess." She paused for a moment. "Oh, what's your name?"

Derek stood still and let them approach him. He didn’t want to do something wrong and accidentally get attacked by him. He watched him curiously, keeping his mouth shut despite all of his questions.
~~~~
Nick shrugged slightly. “Whatever useful stuff I can find.. weapons, gas, Medical supplies. People. Etc.” he replied, looking her over. “Yeah. I guess. It was just another place on the map along the way..” he explained. “I’m Nick. And you are?” He replied. He stopped walking and kept a bit of distance between them, not wanting to invade her space or anything.
~~~
"Anya," she replied as she started off in the direction of the run-down pharmacy. "There isn't a whole lot in the way of medical supplies, but there are still some over-the-counter medicines and basic first aid supplies. The hospital the next town over is absolutely swarming with zombies, so I haven't been in to get anything there. I have a pair of crutches that I just finished using though. As for gas, there is no gas station in this town, and the next town is about two miles over. You might be able to siphon some from the cars around here. People, I'm the only one I've seen in a while."

~~~
Nick tilted his head and followed her. “It’s not really a requirement of mine to get stuff. I’ve just learned that it’s a good idea to at least look for stuff when I can, just in case.” He explained, moving so he walked beside her. “Yeah. That was my plan before I moved on to the next town. And really? Same here. I Haven’t seen anyone else in the past week or two.” Nick explained as they walked. He looked over at her. “So are you just passing through here or live here or what?” He asked curiously. He kept looking around as they walked.
~~~
"I sprained my ankle a few weeks ago and I stopped here to let it heal. I plan to head out soon, but it has been pretty nice. I just have to keep moving though, to find my brother," Anya said, though she then clammed up. She wasn't usually so open with strangers, especially when it came to information about her brother, or herself. "What about you? Looking for someone? Or already lost everyone?" It was blunt, but that was just how she was.

~~~~
“Makes sense, which way are you going?” Nick asked, glancing over at her. He didn’t question how her and her brother were separated or anything. Family was a touchy subject for pretty much anyone since practically Everyone had a family member or friend who’d become a zombie or been killed by one or was missing. “Uhh. Sorta both. I’m looking for someone except I only have their location from like 6 months ago and have no idea if they’re still there or not. So I’m kinda heading to look for them, kinda just working on trying to survive out here and adapt.” Nick explained, shrugging slightly.
~~~
Anya sighed and nodded, "Same. I'm heading west, toward that safe zone they were supposedly starting in New Mexico. I honestly don't even know if they made it there, but it can't hurt to look. Plus, I think it helps to have some kind of purpose out here, you know? It cuts down on the boredom when you have a goal in mind." She shrugged before carefully opening the door to the town's pharmacy. She did a quick sweep of the place while also making sure to note where the boy was at all times.

~~~~
Nick nodded slightly. “We’re heading the same way then.” He noted. He looked around the pharmacy as they walked in, making sure they were alone and there wasn’t any surprises waiting for them. Nick moved and wandered around, looking for anything that would prove useful. “Yeah. It definitely helps. Not sure boredom is quite how I would describe it though.” He commented, glancing over at her. He thought about offering to let her travel with him. It’d be nice to have someone to have his back plus company would definitely be a big bonus. And they were heading the same way so by using his car, it would help her get to her destination quicker.
~~~
"I thought I would honestly see more people heading in that direction, but there haven't been many so far. I have met only three or four people since I started and they were all going the opposite way. None of them could tell me if New Mexico had worked out though, so I still have to try," Anya told him, mostly just to keep there from being any awkward silence. She didn't know if she ought to offer to travel with this guy, or to just let him go on his merry way alone. He did have a nice vehicle, but she wasn't sure that was enough incentive.

~~~~
Nick nodded. “Interesting. I haven’t heard anything about it going wrong or failing though. So maybe it’s just heavily fortified or something and so most people aren’t heading there..” He commented, not finding anything of value so he moved and went behind the main pharmacy counter. After a minute, he looked back over at her. “If you would like, you could come with me. I don’t know how you’re getting from place to place but a car is decently quicker and a bit safer than on foot.” He offered to her quietly, shrugging.
~~~
"I actually don't know how to drive a car. I was using a bike for a while, and then I figured out how to use a motorcycle, but neither is very secure. If you wouldn't mind me tagging along, I'd like to at least consider it. Do you plan to stay through the night? Or are you leaving immediately. I still need time to get my things together, if you don't mind," Anya replied, basically saying yes before her mind could tell her not to. Of course, she really did want time to think on it, but she knew it would be best just to go with him.

~~~~~
“I could teach you someday. And I don’t mind you tagging along if that’s what you’d like to do.” Nick replied with a shrug. “And not until morning. This place seems secure enough to crash for the night at least.” He answered, glancing over at her before back around the more secure pharmacy area. He didn’t find much that could be useful there either so he came back out, stretching slightly. He looked over at Anya for a moment.
He picked up a pot that had been used to cook, but he did not know that. He sniffed it and it smelled good, though he did not know why. He assumed it had been used for eating of some kind, but he could not fathom how.
~~~
"Hmm, ok I would like to learn some time," Anya replied after considering it for a moment. She was relieved to know that he would be staying the night, so that she would have time to avoid him if she decided not to go with him.
As he looked at her she stared back at him blankly. She had yet to make any facial expression toward him at all, happy, mad, or otherwise. Even before the apocalypse she hadn't been one for emotion, but now she was even less emotive.

~~~~
“It shouldn’t be too difficult to learn.” Nick shrugged at her. “Just let me know once we head off and I can teach you.” He told her. He noticed how her face seemed completely blank and devoid of emotion and raised an eyebrow at her. “Nice poker face.” He commented and looked around the store again. Nick kinda wished he could be that blank but that wasn’t him. He was always biting his lip or doing something, unable to just keep his emotions completely hidden.
~~~
"Emotions made people weak even before the zombies," Anya replied simply with a shrug of her shoulders. "But I'll have you know that I actually am quite good at poker," she added in something that could almost be considered a joke, if she had smiled or laughed at all with it. She had grown up in a harsh world though, where smiling and laughing were commodities that she couldn't afford.
"Anyway, you can come with me and we can go through my supplies to see what we are going to bring," she said, waving for him to follow her back out of the pharmacy.

~~~
Nick nodded. “Agreed. But they also make us human.” He commented. He caught that she meant her poker comment in more of a light joking way and smiled a bit at her. “Maybe you’ll have to teach me then.” He looked around before moving to follow her. “Alright. Lead the way.” He followed her out of the pharmacy, looking around. “Have you been alone this whole time?” Nick asked her curiously, just wanting to talk a bit so he could know a bit about her and she could know more about him. Plus, it would help him trust her which would make traveling together a lot less anxiety filled.
~~~
"I've been alone most of my life. I'm used to it and it doesn't bother me, so yes, I've been alone this whole time. Like I said, I've passed a few other people but I didn't really spend time with them," Anya told him. "What about you? Why are you traveling alone? You seem like the type of guy who had a lot of friends in high school and a bright future ahead of you. Am I right or wrong? You've got that charming smile that successful people have."
As she spoke she lead him cautiously back to the house were here things were harbored. She had quite a lot of food stored up as well as some of the better medical supplies she had looted just in case. She didn't want to be caught in a bad place without the supplies.

~~~~
Nick nodded. “Alright.” He looked over at her and listened as she theorized a bit about who he was. “Well Thank you for the compliment. And I don’t know. I did have some friends but once this all started, I don’t know, I just Sorta focused on that and doing what I could to keep myself safe and by the time it got near where I was, I wasn’t close with anyone.” He explained. “And then I packed up and left and here we are.” He told her, telling a bit more than he’d planned on but it was all pretty simple vague stuff so it didn’t concern him too much. Nick walked with her to the house she was camping out in.
