Do you prefer the cliché happy endings or do you like endings that surprise you?
I like the endings that leave me sitting there in awe for a long time where I just can't believe that happened. Especially when there is a sequel.

yeah with happy endings there isn't a lot of room to imagine what happens afterwards.

I agree but I also don't want the ending to be completely sad it has to be kinda happy too.

Sad endings can have bright sides to them if you contemplate them long enough.

Yes, that's a good point. Each individual book can have a twist ending but the series as a whole should be happy.
