More exactly I was thinking of the San Antonio Mission National Park, which covers four missions, encompassing miles of bike/hike trails along the San Antonio River, which connects the Missions. The Mission National Park begins a few miles south of the downtown River Walk and Alamo (which, of course, was also a mission). The Missions are also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The four missions are STILL active Catholic parishes for the residents of the surrounding neighborhoods.
