(Rosa, the birds are quail. It was the only picture of them I got this year. During the summer they lay have two clutches, we are between clutches right now. They build their nests on the ground and I think we have 2-3 families in our front yard bushes. It is fun watching the chicks and both parents walking around. )

yes, I understand that and it is confusing unless each is further identified as Republic or Northern. I changed it to Republic of Ireland in the list of questions after the initial question. I would have guessed Belfast if it had been Northern and Dublin for Republic as well. I thought about doing a different city but figured there might be problems getting to Republic of Ireland as some people don't realize one is part of the UK and the other isn't. So I thought I'd make the city easy, But you are all smarties

I'm European, just "Ireland" is for me always the Rebublic of Ireland, so I had an advantage :D I was wavering between Dublin (biggest and best-known) and Galway (probably well-known because of the Ed Sheeran song), that was the reason of my east/west question

I had thought of Cork, perhaps because of a series set in that area...
I thought of Cork, too, but then, Cork wasn't coastal enough for such a clear yes :D (my daughter is in County Cork at the moment, one month internship for her school in a B&B - which series is set there?)

Yes, after the first few days of homesickness she's ok. It's in the middle of nowhere, so not much to do in her free time, but tomorrow she has a day off and she takes the bus to Cork.
