Are those colour-coded? I'm so impressed :) but, but, does the highlighter go through to the next page?I also thought (view spoiler)

Yes, they are color coded! Pink is romance that made me go "aww so cute" blue is a quote orange is "FEELINGS!!!" Yellow is other but in a way I probably didn't care for and green is other in a "yes, I like this and want to remember it" or possibly "neutral but I want to remember it for some reason" kind of way. Green and yellow are kind of hard to explain sometimes.

Oh and the highlighter only seems to go through to the next page if I press too hard.
It's hard to tell yellow from green in the picture but it's mostly green!
I do like the color coded system and the sticky’s. I use to have a bunch of those. Now I just cut up post-it’s. I can’t write or highlight in my books though.
I use these highlighters and they only go to the next page if i press too hard. I love these highlighters :) I know some highlighters will go to the next page no matter what you do, so I figured i'd mention the ones I use.
I never write in books, but I occasionally buy secondhand books that turn out to have been highlighted by someone else, and it's always interesting to see whatever they were up to.
I never write or highlight in hard copies. When I was young, I ‘unfriended’ people who I lent books to if they did that. It felt like they murdered my child, or more appropriately, my cat back then. Now that I use ebooks, I highlight all over the place, bookmark, write comments, etc. However, I love reading comments and highlights in used books.
I wish the author would write the sequel if she intended one! It is awful waiting (Game of Thrones, for example).
I only highlight/write in my own books, it seems rude, to say the least, to do that to someone else's book, at least without permission (I mention that because i've heard of people doing travelling books, where a book goes between people for the purpose of all of them reading and highlighting it to see what each other has decided to highlight/note).If there ends up being a sequel i'd definitely read it!
I actually have Sparrow Hill Road by her, (under her other name Seanan McGuire), from Netgalley that I got a couple months ago and haven't read yet... >.< So i'll be reading that from her too, hopefully soon-ish.

Publication seems unanimous and unfortunately I have netgalley books that the publication date has already passed (Sparrow Hill Road is being released next month, at least that's what Netgalley says, though I see it was released years ago...no idea if it's an updated version or a re-release, just going with the date Netgalley says).
Finally finished. Won't read another book in this series. And after two duds from Mira/Seanan I doubt I will be trying another of her books anytime soon. I wish I liked it because it took a lot of my time to read it. Oh well.

I just picked up 'Sparrow Hill Road' yesterday where she writes as Seanan Mcguire, I'll give that a go before I give up on her.
Rachel wrote: "at 79%... needs to end"I finished. I thought it dragged a bit in the first 1/3-1/2, then the action started.

Yeah it definitely picked up about halfway through! It was just frustrating bc something excited would happen, and then I felt like the excitement would break with pages of banter btwn the characters or something.
I thought the trophy hunters were the best characters to be honest, which is funny bc I hate trophy hunters IRL.
They were the best characters because they thoroughly explained themselves and were inconfusable with other characters.
Lena wrote: "They were the best characters because they thoroughly explained themselves and were inconfusable with other characters."Yes, they actually were fleshed out and were unapologetically themselves. How many times did I have to read Olivia calling herself Emma Frost, or Tory reminding everyone that her sister died and she had to see a mermaid (even tho one was right in front of her in the tank). WAY TOO MUCH!
