55% (view spoiler)[ This book scares me. It doesn't even have ghosts, but the sheer lack of empathy in Kevin is so terrifying. I have read many accounts of different psychopaths, but Kevin feels so real. I empathize with Eva, but I feel she also made him much worse. I think the Dad is most responsible. I scared for Celia. Finished (view spoiler)[ Wow, this book was a ride. I got lots of stress from reading this. I don't blame Kevin for anything he did. Even if he was a born psychopath like how Eva implied, i wasn't his fault he was born like that. I think Eva was at fault here. She hated her son even before he was born, and I think that shows how deranged she herself. Franklin was equally bad, except he was total opposite of Eva. He smothered his children by loving them too much. The plot twist of Franklin and Celia's death got me. I do think the letter format was chosen badly. Why would Eva want to refreshed her bad memories? I didn't get the point of that. Also, the sudden love she shows for Kevin at end honestly didn't make me sympathize with her. (hide spoiler)]
