The reading schedule for Uncle Silas will be as follows...
Uncle Silas
May 6-12 ... Chapters 1-13
May 13-19 ... Chapters 14-26
May 20-26 ... Chapters 27-40
May 27-June 2 ... Chaps 41-53
June 3-9 ... Chapters 54-66
** I decided to start a little after May 1 since some members may need a little time to get a copy of the book. (Plus, I’m trying to finish Vanity Fair before we begin.)

A bit of trivia for y'all: Uncle Silas has been nominated by the group all-together six times! And this is the first time it actually took the prize. The next in line is Dickinson's A Tale of Two Cities, which has been nominated five times and is still waiting to take the gold.
I started today so I could plan out some questions and I think we are going to have a great time with it. Very sensation novel!

Lol! Same here. I had to force myself to stop so I wouldn’t get too far ahead of the group. So much good creepiness!
I can’t believe it’s been nominated SIX times before finally making it to Group Read. There’s just so many great books out there.
...and there's another one that will surprise you, Jane Eyre has been nominated four times and never won.

I watched Northanger Abbey recently (again), and Jane Austen's spoof on gothic novels never gets old.

I opened the first week’s thread a little early, because I’ve got some things going on this weekend.

True- That's a fun one in a way. I can't see why some people don't like NA so much- but then again, others probably can''t see why I don't like sense and Sensibility so much.

NA is great for the silliness of it. Plus, Tilney has more personality than Edward on the page.
I think S&S is great for the sister relationship more than the romances. Except for Colonel Brandon. But, I spent most of that book matching him with Elinor.
We’re hopelessness off topic, but here’s a fun link to the Austen couples and one reviewers idea of their chances for long-term happiness...

It was Marianne that put me off the book- I've read it through once but any attempts at revisits have not worked since Marianne gets on my nerves far too much.
Agreed on NA- its nice and silly and fun.

I like the book too- those charges of hers though were awful.
