I just started this, since it's standalone and was added to the schedule when I had a lull... 5 minutes in and I'm already going NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!... the dreaded audiobook that feels the need to use music at the end of chapters... this happened once before with Ketty Jay...
HOPEFULLY, it's not every chapter, and instead just between prologue and part 1, and part 1 & part 2... we'll see soon, I guess...

What is this place? I don't understand whats happening? Is this about after life? Why is he seeing the past? The writing is not that good but I really want to read fast and see behind the mystery.
That's what I gathered from the blurb... possible afterlife?... or maybe not?... the book is about figuring it out, I guess...

Either make ppl not feel the hunger anymore or serve them some roasted duck. :)))
I'm of the assumption, (view spoiler)
I hope something exciting happens soon... I'm about 20% in, I think, and don't care much about these flashbacks, really...

I skimmed some reviews while trying to avoid any spoilers, and it sounds like their are some genre/story-shifts throughout, whenever we think we know what's going on... the first being around 30%...

40-45% now: The flashbacks grew more interesting when some more details were revealed... (view spoiler)
This afterlife business has grown more interesting, lately, too: I wonder what (view spoiler) means... and the fact (view spoiler)
Mysterious Bad Guy: (view spoiler)
So many questions...

Hmm, not to positive about it? I'll start today or tomorrow. First trying to finish 'The Penelopiad'.
I was a bit meh the first 20-30%, but it got much better, in my opinion... approaching the end now...
85%: I thought my book was bugged for a second there: (view spoiler)
90%: This has really tackled a lot more weighty topics than I expected early on... I can see why the reviews comment on how this breaks the light YA mold...

100%: (view spoiler)
Luckily, that music thing I complained about at the start was only used to separate the 4-5 parts of the story, and not all 80+ chapters...

Though I have to admit; it made me wonder for more. I had to finish it last night to see whats exactly what.
Theres no answers provided too but it doesn't drive me crazy either. Funny...

Not reading the spoilers yet, but (view spoiler) I've expected that the writing would be better like in 'A monster calls'.
