I just finished an exhausting book. I can't wait to read something refreshing.

I just started this, since it's standalone and was added to the schedule when I had a lull... 5 minutes in and I'm already going NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!... the dreaded audiobook that feels the need to use music at the end of chapters... this happened once before with Ketty Jay...

HOPEFULLY, it's not every chapter, and instead just between prologue and part 1, and part 1 & part 2... we'll see soon, I guess...

What is this place? I don't understand whats happening? Is this about after life? Why is he seeing the past?
The writing is not that good but I really want to read fast and see behind the mystery.

I skimmed some reviews while trying to avoid any spoilers, and it sounds like their are some genre/story-shifts throughout, whenever we think we know what's going on... the first being around 30%...

I had my suspicions, when Seth couldn't find an Owen-Coffin earlier... I mean, who says everybody in "Lethe" has to exist outside VR?... (hide spoiler)]

90%: This has really tackled a lot more weighty topics than I expected early on... I can see why the reviews comment on how this breaks the light YA mold...

100%: (view spoiler)[CALLED IT!!!... that entire last little part was designed to muddy the waters as much as possible... the Final Battle... then the turn-around where the Driver healed Seth... etc... (hide spoiler)]

Luckily, that music thing I complained about at the start was only used to separate the 4-5 parts of the story, and not all 80+ chapters...

Though I have to admit; it made me wonder for more. I had to finish it last night to see whats exactly what.

Theres no answers provided too but it doesn't drive me crazy either. Funny...

And btw how can you wake up from an imagined world with an imagined attacked to somewhere specific on your head? What you live is not real so why is that real? Do ppl actually die in their caskets? (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[the answer is basically yes... they die in the caskets... since life so 100% integrated into the imagined world, now... I think it's playing on that "if you die in a dream, you die for real" mentality of some fantasy book... because your brain can't tell the difference... that doesn't really explain the connector malfunction tho... it should have kept working regardless, unless the brain controls that, too, or something...

I think (view spoiler)[the Driver moves them to their own coffin eventually... Ness didn't explore that transition really... but I assume people grow to adulthood naturally, even if other bodily functions are regulated or repressed with drugs... (hide spoiler)]

I still don't know where this is going, but I think at this moment Seth is just between his normal life and the life after death. Though, the writing, I believe was the page-turner for me. If it wasn't this plain I wouldn't be so eager to finish this book so fast because of its odd story.
