I keep a Google doc of names I think of or come across that I like. Could be a friend or acquaintance, a song, anything. Then depending on the character I'm writing, I see what fits. Sometimes the name comes to me with the character or based on a character image that inspired me. :)

So far, purely fiction, and sometimes "wishful fiction." ;) Occasionally a scene or conversation from real life makes its way in there, but plots are all fiction.

While I always say to go for it [i.e., grab a notebook/computer and go to town!], I would also suggest reading, too. Not even necessarily in the genre you want to write, though you should be familiar with what's out there. Reading helps you identify good AND bad writing (because it's all out there). It's the best way (other than actually writing) to learn how you want to write, what you like and don't.

Since I was a kid, I loved stories of all kinds. I've written so many short stories over the years, but it wasn't until I read a book that had me so invested in the story and characters. It reminded me how much I loved to write and create a satisfying story... And how much I'd always wanted to write something that moved someone like that book had inspired me. That was when I decided to put my writing out in the world.

Thanks for asking! I'm working on a novella that is a companion piece to FOX (his POV this time), as well as prepping for the final novel in the Bodhi Beach series, ZEKE. I've also got two other books in the works, but one thing at a time ;)

How can a mother choose a favorite? ;) Honestly, I'm not sure I could choose one — I'm so fond of different characters at different times. I always have a soft spot for my guys. Currently, Fox is closest because I'm writing a novella from his POV.

Helena Hunting
CD Reiss
Sierra Simone
Daisy Prescott
Katherine Stevens
Jessica Hawkins
Debra Anastasia
Leisa Rayven
LJ Shen
Penny Reid
to name a few :) Also, Michael Faudet and Beau Taplin write some sexy poetry that hits the right feels.

Haha! Yes, yes I do. I often have tea by my side (usually mint) at the very least, but my favorite snack might be a really good, chewy chocolate chip cookie.

How can I possibly pick a favorite? ;) I love them all for different reasons. Right now, I'm loving on Fox because I'm writing his POV for a novella.
Bodhi Beach will have 3 full length and interconnected standalones, plus the novella I'm working on now. :)

Oh, that's a tough one. My mind first goes to Violet from Helena Hunting's PUCKED. If only just to see what it's like to have big boobs. And of course, there's her man, Alex to contend with. I'll take that TYVM.
Not a very classy answer, I realize, but there you go. We're here to amuse ourselves, no? ;)

I'd like to be more of a "one at a time" author, but I do have multiple stories that pop up at any given time... so I just keep my notes handy :)

Other than write ;), I joined a critique group to workshop my first manuscript. I also had a group of author friends working to get published or to self-publish, and we helped each other find editors, formatters, resources, etc. I started querying agents, though I ultimately decided to publish myself, it was enlightening, and I did get some great feedback. I started creating my website, logo, social media platforms — prepping myself for the PR/marketing side of things.
So basically, I dove in — so much of it, regardless of preparation, is learn as you go, because everyone's journey is different.
