I've 100% done that before :P I had a movie cover edition book that I read on a beach (that was located on my grandparents' farm) when I was with the dogs, and a dog put its muddy paw on the book.
So I cleaned off the page and that one is my reading copy, while I have another copy mostly for looking pretty :P

Not for me because I have only read like a 1/4 of my books so I'm good on books but I need at least 5 more bookcases.
