Omg. The badassness of Celaena is why I love the book so much. I hate reading about 'poor me, save me' type of MCs. Celaena is a badass.
I typically prefer male writers. And I don't have a particular preference for the MC.
The tiny bit of Throne of Glass that I made it through, she annoyed me.

My goal is to get all my SJM books signed. I have two signed from TOG and one from ACOTAR. So far.

That's pretty good. I don't really care if my books are signed or not. Especially since I'd have to go to wherever the author is to get it signed.
Unless I am meeting the author then I'm not usually that interested in signed books. I have been fortunate enough to meet a lot of authors I like though, so I have a fairly big collection of signed books.

I'm not a huge fan of either male writers or male MCs. I've gotten better at that lately though. It all depends on the MC and writer. :)
