Katie (kadresel) | 20 comments So I can't remember too much about this one. Just that it was a trilogy that took place during WWII on the British Homefront in a small village near a military base. Each book revolved around one woman, I think. I remember the first had the woman just moving to the village, I think as either a school teacher or a nurse. And I think there was a paranormal bent but I'm not 100% sure. I do remember her having to black out her windows and people black marketing food, and her going on a drive to a movie in a nearby town.

The books came out sometime after 2000.

Katie, what are the paranormal aspects of this story?

In the first book, can you describe her romantic interest - job/skills/interests, grew up in the village, how they met, etc.?

Why did she move to this particular village? In which country?

Is this book for older adults or young adults (teens)?

Katie (kadresel) | 20 comments I can't really remember what the paranormal aspects were exactly. Each book was a different romance. I think one might have been a werewolf and another a vampire.

I know it took place in the English countryside. It was in the adult Fantasy section rather than the YA section of the bookstore. And the romance aspect of it seemed not to be the primary plot, so much as the woman moving to the country and having to live through the war. Lind of like Homefires, but with fantasy aspects. I do remember that no one was supposed to know the paranormal beings were anything other than normal humans though.

I'll keep looking in the meantime since this seems a bit lighter in tone than what you've described.

You're welcome!
And I'm glad that was it since I wasn't having much luck otherwise. I found quite a few mysteries and horror stories combining WWII and paranormal elements but not much for paranormal romance.
I may give it a read too, it sounds interesting.
