Maddie thought she and Logan would be friends forever. But when your dad is a Secret Service agent and your best friend is the president's son, sometimes life has other plans. Before she knows it, Maddie's dad is dragging her to a cabin in the middle of the Alaskan wilderness.

No phone.
No Internet.
And not a single word from Logan.

Maddie tells herself it's okay. After all, she's the most popular girl for twenty miles in any direction. (She’s also the only girl for twenty miles in any direction.) She has wood to cut and weapons to bedazzle. Her life is full.
Until Logan shows up six years later . . .
And Maddie wants to kill him.

But before that can happen, an assailant appears out of nowhere, knocking Maddie off a cliff and dragging Logan to some unknown fate. Maddie knows she could turn back- and get help. But the weather is turning and the terrain will only get more treacherous, the animals more deadly.

Maddie still really wants to kill Logan.
But she has to save him first.

Chapter 6:
(view spoiler)[I really liked the beginning. I was so relieved that neither Maddies Dad nor the president died, but I don't understand, why Maddie and her Dad had to move to Alaska. I get that he was posibly fired for that, but why leave the country? Are they in danger because someone is looking for them and wants to see them dead? (Maybe just the dad, though?) And why hasn't Logan ever written to Maddie? Did he get her letters at all? Or maybe I'm interpreting to much and he was just a kid, who didn't want to write letters.

Now Logans in Alaska, too, as was expeted. I'm looking forward to see how this all turns out. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 21:
(view spoiler)[I feel like I'm rushing trough this book. It's really good. I felt just as heartbroken as Maddie did when Logan revealed that he did in fact not only got but also read all those letters she send to him. I really believed him when he said he didn't know she wrote... I hope the russian guy wont catch them again and they can be saved by Maddies Dad. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Okay, I totally was rushing trough this book. :D But I just needed to know how this all ends. I totally shipped Logan and Maddie in the end and wanted them to get together. So happy how this turned out. :) And that everyone who was important survived, even Stephan. Which was unexpected but good, after the story about his sister was revealed I was rooting for him, too.

Chapter 1-11

Good book so far. I like the characters and the action right off. I love the nickname Mad Dog they gave Maddie kind of cute for a 10 year old girl

I was surprised when the book started off with a lot of action. I was worried for Maddie's dad who chased down the guys who were kidnapping the 1st lady. I was relieved when the kids seemed safe and unharmed and then one of them wasn't safe.

Why did Maddie and her dad need to move all the way to Alaska in the middle of no where? Maybe after he was shot he wanted to get as far away from that life and Alaska was some where he thought he and his daughter would be safe.....until they weren't (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 12- 20

So far the book has stayed really good. Sometimes when a book has that much action in the beginning the rest of it is pretty slow but with this book it seems that there is something always happening and it's been really good.

I love how she manipulated Stefan and have laughed at how she managed to get her way with him. All he would have to do is shoot her and his time with a pesky girl who never shuts up would be over...lol. They just crossed the bridge that was falling apart and Stefan got his leg stuck in the animal trap. She shot the flair gun at it the bridge and set it on fire leaving Stefan on on side and them on the other. Logan has just realized she was shot.

I am really enjoying the book so far and like the action that is taking place. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 21- 28

So the book is still full of action and the ranger Stefan shot came running out of the woods and scared the kids to death. They thought they were saved but it turned out the ranger was an even worse Russian out to get the Presidents son. It turns out that Stefan was not as bad a guy as we were led to believe. There is a twist in the plot surrounding Stefan and he makes you kind of like him and then he goes back to being the bad guy again (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 29-32

So the man who tried to kidnap the 1st Lady 6 years earlier was the one behind the kidnapping of the Pres. son again. I can't tell you why in case whoever isn't to that point yet. The whole story unfurls and makes complete sense and ends just how I would have liked it to end. Toward the end I end up liking and feeling for Stefan. You'll see what I mean :) (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Stefan isn't a bad guy, but he did some bad things to save his sister. They both get away. Logan is left behind while Maddie saves her dad. Logan catches up. The three of them get away, but her dad is injured. They go to D.C. while her dad recovers. Maddie and Logan are now a couple. Not many surprises, but I'm glad there was a happy ending.
