Only thing that isn't dull are brilliant blue eyes. Dresses almost-exclusively in loose jeans with a plain white top.

Personality: Before the water poisoning, Alex was generally a happy child, infusiastic horse-rider, champion volley-baller and academic superstar. She was very close to her parents, little sister and dog.
That was before the flood.
She now has heavy mood swings, ranging from depression (which induces heavy beige eating) and a strong determination to build herself together. Alex is still grieve for her dog and family. She has a heavy suspicion of authority and enjoys emotionally destroying any consolers sent to her via her enormous intellect. She also has vivid nightmares and Post-Traumatic-Stress-Syndrome which is strongly tied to the death of her dog.
Alex is very independent
She still enjoys academics, although previous attended a elite middle school, so is extremely frustrated by the slow pace and simpleness of her school-work and classmates. Alex has made no efforts to get to know her peers and is almost a stereotypical loner.
Alex is almost certain her parent are still alive, and bases her life around trying to prove this.
History:
Alex lived a privileged childhood with her two loving parents, sister and various animals.
When excuation was called, Alex refused to leave her family and dog, although her younger sister Matilda was one of the first child victims of the posion. She was forcefully taken from her home against her will, as she wanted to stay with her parents.
During this process, her dog, Jace, bit one of the soldiers holding Alex, who then had to get three stitches to his forearm. In retaliation, the soldier kicked Jace in the throat, breaking several neck bones and killing him instantly.

Alex made several escape attempts during the drive to Camp and was reported to be 'Silent and Still' when news of the fate of her parents came in.

Personality: This is hard to explain, since she doesn't have normal human emotions. I believe that if that part of her brain had fully developed, she'd be a quiet, but intelligent person, with good grades and a normal life. But, because her brain had not fully developed, she was bullied daily as a child, and she could never understand why. Because she wouldn't get sad or scared or angry, the bullying continued till she moved here, to Rainbow Creek, where she continued her life quietly. The bullying probably would have began again, but she kept to herself and continues to do so, so no one notices her. Even though she doesn't feel fear, anger, or sadness, she's not an idiot, and she realizes that if she's around people too often, she'll get hurt.
History: You can mostly gather her history from the rest of this, but when she was born, the part of her brain that allowed her to have emotions wasn't fully developed. Because of this, she could not feel real love, anger, fear, or sadness. As she grew up, she was bullied daily for this, but she didn't understand why. Because she wouldn't cry or fight back, this continued till she moved to Rainbow Creek. Her father never knew of the bullying, because she never said anything. Her father (his name was Jared) died of water poisoning the day before she was taken to Rainbow Creek.

Family: None. Her father was single, and died a day before she was taken to Rainbow Creek. She loved him as much as she could physically, and he cared for her, although he didn't understand her. The only thing she has left from him is a pet cat named Jane.
Other: When she was born, the part of her brain that allowed her to have emotions wasn't properly developed, which prevented her from feeling many normal human emotions such as fear, anger, love, and sadness. She can feel happiness, but because she does not ever feel unhappy, she doesn't value it, and it isn't like when a normal person is happy. There are times that she almost feels sad because she can't feel like other people, but these moments are rare and pass quickly. The doctors tell her that there's the smallest possibility that as she lives, her emotions will continue to develop till she can feel like what's called 'normal' people.

History: Her parents used to always fight and will often forget about her for days. She has some happy memories of her mother, but she went crazy after years of abusive behavior from Luna's father (which she doesn't consider her dad). She was left to take care of herself from a young age (7). She learned how to heal wounds, hunt for food, cook, and make money. She was the one earning their salary by working as a graphic designer and being an entrepreneur, all while going to school full-time. When Luna was 12, her father got drunk and started throwing glass bottles at her mother, and he got a shard of glass in her mother's neck. She died one day later. She hates her dad and gives him enough money to buy his own apartment. Luna lives in a separate house (and its address is hidden from her father). When she heard about the contamination, she was one of the first to leave. Luna left her father five thousand dollars, then left him for good. She has no idea where he is, and she doesn't care.

Other: Her name Luna, was given to her by her mother. Her mom's name is Diana Juno, which are names of moon goddesses. That was one of the only happy memories Luna has of her mother.

Personality: She seems shy, but in truth, she's quite loud, and boisterous. She love climbing, running, digging, scavenging, and adventuring. She's a goody-two-shoes, and a teachers pet, but only because they don't hear her whisper curses under her breath and write stories ending with the gruesome deaths of many of her fellow classmates. Oh, and she doubts that she would be such a favorite if they found her collection of axes, switch blades, and rifles. (Also, the stuff about being a goody-two-shoes at school is only here, at Rainbow Creek. At home, she was home schooled by her parents.)
History: Kaida lived on a farm before she was taken away because of the water contamination. Because they had an old well, and property far away from other civilization, it was a long time before they learned of the contamination. Kaida was one of the last children taking to Rainbow Creek, only because the military had searched a bit farther just in case there were any people living in the middle of nowhere where her and her family lived. At the young age of eight, she begged her dad to shoot her how to shoot a gun. By ten, she was a great shot, and had started hunting with her father, skinning the deer, and cooking them. By twelve, when she was strong enough to cut wood properly, she started chopping wood in the forest with her fathers axes. When she was taken to Rainbow Creek, she was entirely alone, but luckily she was found while adventuring, so she had a backpack full of supplies that would last for a while, most of them being her favorite things.
Talents: Hunting, building fires, scavenging, climbing, most of school (but not socializing), running quickly.
Family: Father named Robert: dead. Mother named Laura: dead. Dog named Li'l Rifle: dead. So basically...everyone's dead. And since Kaida lived in the middle of nowhere, she had no friends except family.
Other: Kaida is almost fearless. Not in the way that she doesn't have fears, but that she's very brave and likes facing her problems head on immediately instead of waiting to deal with them later. She'd rather get chicken pox at three years old than at ninety, and so, of course, she did so. In between the ages of two and six, she got 5+ diseases, which she recovered from a few months after.

Personality: Miranda is shy and quiet. She doesn’t really like to talk to people, so she nods and shakes her head in response to people’s questions most of the time. She likes to spend her time up in the clouds and daydreaming. She likes to eat cookies and anything else sweet, and she also loves to draw. Miranda gets nightmares all of the time, and normally wakes up in the middle of the night screaming.
History: Miranda and her family were at at a train station one day planning to visit family. Miranda accidentally wandered away from her family, her curiosity getting the best of her. She wandered onto a train, and it took off, leaving her family searching for her behind. She wandered on and off quiet a few different trains, nobody really noticing her. On one of those train rides, she was cought and sent to the orphanage, where it would be safest for her considering the fact that everyone was dying from the water contamination. She found out a little while later that her family had all died from the water contamination, and that she was lucky to have made it to the orphanage before she’d become a goner.

History: he knew Lake for a while, and Parker was his best friend. But Hannah, she was the one who always stood with him. She left after him, was taken later. He doesn’t know where she is. Parker and Luc separates when Luc went downhill.
Luc was at the New River biking with his girlfriend, when he was 15. They stopped to get some water from a nearby stream — an awful idea, but he was seeing the beauty in the world. He made her drink first as a prank. She fell to the ground, writhing and foaming at the mouth, and he held her while she died.
A month later. Luc and his sister, Kia, were walking down the stairs. To the basement. The basement that had flooded just a week before. The water puddles were still there, up to Kia’s ankles. She stepped into the water and fell back. Mouth filled with foam, just like Micki. Lucas knew what to do this time. He dialed 911 and they came to take her away. He knew she was not dead. Yet. Then the trailers came. He was one of the first collected, and never saw her again.
A year later, Luc is still heartbroken, for the sister he lost and the girlfriend he killed, and the best friend he abandoned.

she remembers growing up in a safe place. A place where she could roam outside and play with Luc and his best friend. Hannah. She remembers that.
But she doesn’t remember stepping into the cold water. Writhing on the floor at Lucas’ feet. The ride to the hospital. Only the pain shines through. It hurt. God, it hurt.
The worst part, though? She doesn’t know where her brother is. He left her, she thinks. Him and Hannah went off to a fantasy world, left her behind.
She is trying so hard not to fall apart.

History: She always wanted to be the knight. When Lucas created their fantasy land, he made her the princess. She remembers walking to his house in the pouring rain to slap him and tell him to make her a knight. So she was the knight; Lucas was the lost trader, sometimes the king, sometimes other things; Kia was the evil sorceress up in her tower. This, she loved — their own place they could go when reality got bad.
After a year, she still remembers what the forest was called, or what songs they would sing to find each other. ‘This little light of mine’ was her favorite.
Her parents never loved her that much — they were stiff and unbending, disapproved of her spark. She had no one except for Kia and Lucas. And now they are gone too.
