Lindsay Durfee | 4 comments Hi everyone! I'm new here, but this seems like the place to ask my question. I'm trying to find a book I read a looooong time ago - back when I was sneaking romances out of my mother's bookshelf! I'm rereading Judith McNaught's Paradise series, and I remember this other book's plotline, but not the title or author, as something I read around the same time. It's slightly similar to Perfect.

It's a "contemporary" romance - it's set in the 80s I believe, but since that's when it was published, it's contemporary!

Plot: somehow, a nice, normal girl-next-door (I think she may be an interior decorator?) meets/goes on a date with a movie star, has a one night stand. She takes (what is now known as) a selfie with her camera with him in bed, unknowing. The film gets developed and causes a stir that she didn't mean. He's not really recognizable in it so it amounts to nothing, and she apologizes to him and he forgives her. Meanwhile, she also gets pregnant from the one night stand. The movie star is in an out of her life for some reason, and trying not to be a bother, she convinces him it's her ex's baby (the ex is in and out of her life too). He's involved with another starlet, who is obviously the worst. She gets pregnant too, does almost no prenatal care (selfishly doesn't want her life to change from the Hollywood jetset life she's had), delivers early. They later find out the baby is blind. At some point the movie star and the girl next door get back together, realize their love for one another, etc., and since the marriage with the starlet was already on the rocks, the movie star initiates a divorce. He has to pretend he doesn't care about his blind daughter to get the starlet to give him full custody, as she's vindictive. It ends with the girl next door and the movie star happily together, raising their two children. There may be some more on their Hollywood lives, but I get that part mixed up with McNaught's Perfect, so I can't add much there.

Does anyone recognize this plot? What book is it?!?
