Humans are the only animal on Earth to have moral choice. Author H.G. Wells took this idea and wrote "The Island of Doctor Moreau". It is a Science Fiction book. The book follows Edward Pendrick, a man on an unmapped island somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, trying to figure out what is going on with the island inhabitants. Pendrick meets Moreau, a scientist, and Montgomery, his assistant. Moreau explains that the inhabitants on the island were animals that were surgically transformed into what looks like humans which they call beast folk. Moreau brainwashes them to follow set laws and make them think doctor Moreau is some sort of god. Pendrick starts to uncover the mysterious beast folk and Moreau, and must decide to get off the island or stay with Moreau and Montgomery. Two Themes for this book are human interference with nature and moral responsibility. Moreau trying to turn animals into humans but ends up causing more wrong then good is human interference with nature. Pendrick must decided wether what Moreau is doing is morally right, and let Moreau continue his experiments, or morally wrong, and stop Moreau from continuing to harm more creatures. That is his moral responsibility. Wells uses symbolism and imagery. In the book, The island that Pendrick stays on, is a symbol of human life and how humans view other aspects of human life. Wells uses the dissection of animals to make them more like humans as imagery in the book. Wells wrote a truly amazing story with suspense and adventure. He tells an interesting tell of survival which deserves four and a half out of five stars. This books is recommended to anybody who likes science fiction books.

This was written fairly well. The themes were detailed and well explained in later sentences. However it could flow better.
