I think I understand it.

Basically, everything your character does will have an impact of varying degrees on their skill level. If they train, they'll receive points to advance their position and learn new jutsu. If they do not, they either backtrack or make no progress at all. However, what I don't really understand is the process of learning jutsu. Do they subtract points to learn it, or simply meet a minimum number of points, and post a lengthy training montage post?
