iclaudi | 1 comments This is a really good story - the guy is still alive I think and there was talk of a film. It's a thick paperback (I think the cover was blue and red) and I can't remember it's name!!!!!

Was it an adventure, historical fiction, political thriller, etc?

Feel free to post as many details as you can about the book.

I haven't read it but it sounds like Shantaram.

Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts

"Shantaram is a 2003 novel by Gregory David Roberts, in which a convicted Australian bank robber and heroin addict who escaped from Pentridge Prison flees to India. The novel is commended by many for its vivid portrayal of tumultuous life in Mumbai." wiki
