skketch (goodreadscomnovel_thoughts) Kayla wrote: "Hey guys? I started reading the bookish life of Nina hill. Has anyone read it? What are your thoughts? I chose this one because it reminded me of Eleanor oliphant is completely fine."

Kayla, I have and it's a charming book. Nina isn't as snarky or damaged as Eleanor but the story is sweet. I think as a book reader, you will appreciate her.

No I don't theindianreadingduo. I got my copy from my local library. I'll be happy to share my thoughts about The Henna Artist with you when I finish. I'm at a point in the story which to me was a predictable outcome but also bittersweet.

I have to agree with you. What is up with that?? I have been struggling to even understand the concept of the book because of it. Anyone else feel this way?

message 1846: by Laura (new)

Laura Nasoulinh (lauranasoulinh) | 123 comments skketch, yes I had trouble with it, but I can also bunch it all up to having 2 small children making me exhausted. I did enjoy the book since it touched something that happens on a regular basis in the workplace.

message 1848: by JeezJack (new)

JeezJack | 2 comments I was supposed to be reading songs of achilles for a book club but Greek mythology bores me to death. I just can't seem to gain any interest in it. So instead I've decided my first book of september will be Supermarket by Bobby Hall. I got it earlier in 2020 and I guess I forgot all about it because late liat night as I was looking through my book collection I came upon it and decided I would start it today.

Thanks Laura. I will try to keep that in mind as I listen. I find the narrator just so grating on my ears for some reason so I can't concentrate. That happened with The Shadows female narrator as well. Her voice was not soothing to my ear and so I tuned out.

Laura Nasoulinh (lauranasoulinh) | 123 comments skketch, I read the book myself but even the narration in the story is hard. It's just different
