message 5969: by Bhu (new)

Bhu (ussbhu) | 1 comments UnSexy Spirituality, is an interesting book, for curious seekers, confused seekers, investigative seekers, and atheists, it clarifies any wrong notion we might have on spiritual concepts such as Karma, the afterlife, dreamworld, meditation, etc...14 chapters are equivalent to 14 books. Give it a listen/read, spending 1 hour is worthwhile time on it.

Malinda Sutherland (purplebug) | 1 comments I haven’t been reading the last year and a half. I lost my youngest brother before he turned 30 and my dad 7 months ago all within a 17 month span. I lost a couple of friends in a 2 week span in November. My dad, brother & I were big readers and would read a book and then discuss it. Our own little book club. My heart hasn’t been in it. I strangely found this book journal thing on TikTok where you make your own journal and review books there. So I started making one and my therapist thinks it is a good idea to get me back to something I have loved since childhood. So 2023 will be me returning to reading.

Deena Goldstein | 72 comments I'm reading At the Water's Edge by Sara Gruen - she wrote Water for Elephants which was great - this book is interesting, thought it lost me there toward the middle, but steam is picking up as I get closer to the end and think it will end up being really good - anyone else read this and had the same experience?

I know, I know...I'm the only person who absolutely HATED this book. I gave it one star and wrote this rating:

This book was really not my cup of tea. It was way too graphic and unnecessarily gory and loaded with gratuitous sex. Yes, there was a plot full of mystery and suspense but I pretty much had that part figured out early on. This is the first book I've read by the wildly popular author Colleen Hoover and although the reviews of this book claim it is quite different than her usual stories I'm just not sure if I want to read any of her other books.
