I think they count. I personally don't like listening to audiobooks, but what about the blind people out there that can't exactly read regular books? Sure there's braille, but how many books are translated? and I hear audiobooks are easier than braille. Anyways, are you going to tell them that just because it's an audiobook, it doesn't count as reading? It's just another way to digest the contents of the book.

Like just count whatever the f*ck you want. Like honestly, it's just an online challenge. It's supposed to be for fun. I don't get what the fuss is all about, it's completely unnecessary.

I also find it weird that you have to debate whether ebooks count - it's just the electronic version of a book, so why the hell wouldn't that count? Just because you're reading it on your kindle or phone instead of the physical book copy? Like that doesn't even make sense why it wouldn't count...

If you are not visually impaired should you count audiobooks as reading?

message 1316: by Priyanka (new)

Priyanka Dutta | 10 comments Yes....audiobooks should be counted....I mean whats wrong in it.
It's always good to listen to a book than reading specially while travelling in the crowd...thats my opinion.

I've heard in the news that in the U.S if you stayed outdoors for too long, you could easily lose your life slowly. So maybe they're taking extra precaution?
Do your tutors or lecturers post the work online when these situations occur?

message 1323: by Mystic Orange (new)

Mystic Orange (Rumell) (rkrespectedmember) | 1157 comments No. Which is stupid. They used to do that last year. But they are making things difficult for us. We have learning box but the tutors have not added anything. Last year was way more better.

That's really odd. You should email them about it. Cause it isn't fair that you all missing out on important information when the internet is easily accessible at home for you to keep up to date on the work.

message 1330: by Susy (new)

Susy (susysstories) No not really. It snowed last week like 2 or 3 days. And it’ll be snowing today and tomorrow. Temperatures are fluctuating between -6C and +4C, so not extremely cold thank God! 6 years ago it was -20C :(
I would be so happy to live in a country where it’s always above +20C!!!

Lol, at our school all our students would be excited to have a snow day. our school freaks out easily too. that being said, even if it doesn't look bad, if it makes it difficult for commuters to reach the school then they will often cancel (such as icy conditions in surrounding locations, etc.). here in Texas, they freak at just a little bit of ice. one time we had a snow day and not even two hours after the announcement everything was sunny and clear :v no snow or ice in sight. it was a little bit funny honestly. they made us have a makeup day on a different holiday though so that was X'D lol

Audrey (niceyackerman) We’ve never had a snow day. One time it was snowing hard and really icy, and the school bus drivers refused to go out in it, and still school went on. If it’s below 25 F (5 C) it just means they stay inside for recess.

Currently reading before bed :) I'm eagerly waiting for the weekend to go back home, and more importantly, to the bookstore! My parents gave me $100 for Chinese New Years, and of course, I'll be spending them on juicy, juicy new books.

I'm not quite sure, probably whatever catches my eye as long as it's under $100. TBH, I was also not gonna buy any books for a while, since the past couple of weeks I've bought a good amount. But, blame my parents for the New Years money! The only confirmed book on my list is If We Were Villains, since I ordered it from my bookstore. Aside from that, I might see if I can pick up Daughter of Smoke and Bone. Any others, I'd have to take a look at what my bookstore has.

Most people waste on so much groceries that they do not need. People waste things that they buy. People these days do not think thoughtfully on what they really need. Money has gone in their minds.
