Goodreads Inspired Read-A-Thon discussion
Read-a-thon Challenges
Ooo haha this is gonna be fun and interesting . Is manga okay ? I read a lot of manga and these challenges would be easier ... lol
@Sara cool! Ok:Dand if anyone wants to buddy read , I’d love to be a buddy! You’d have to choose the book though lol
I'll go with Challenge 6! I've been meaning to read the Sword of Summer, since I heard Rick Riordan's books are really good.
Heyy I am looking for a buddy to read with :DI am mostly into ya, na, fantasy, dystopian and yeah well that's it :>
I've never done a buddy read, so I want to try that out as well! Here's the thing, I stopped reading after my first year (and subsequent dropping out) of college. I had major slump and therefore missed out on years of books. I'm trying to make up for that, but its slow going.
So I want to read
City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Mass
or
Throne of Glass by Sarah J Mass
I choose these because they are the most popular and well known books out there. But if you have a suggestion for another older, popular book... As long as I haven't read it and can get it on audio, I'm down. Like I said, I've never buddy read before, and I would love to do so in this smaller challenge!
I'm working on my last semester of college (with a sudden book slump that came at me this month) so I'll attempt three! For lists: We are the Ants
For want to read: Nevernight (which I started a little early lol)
& For star rating: Goldie Vance Vol 1
Okay I just created a poll for the group-read, it will open tomorrow so please vote and if you don't like any of the choices add one yourself. Althought let's not get crazy and have a top of 15 choices.

So, I'm confused. Are we doing only a group read, or are we doing a group read plus a buddy read? I can only do one in a week, I know my limits, lol. If its a group read, I'm so voting We Are the Ants... I've been intrigued by this concept a while ago.
@Daniela It's gonna open tomorrow, the system is kinda fucked up so I can not open it for today.
You can have it as your buddy-read. I know we are not exactly super humans hhahhaha. You can double up or more in other challenges too.

Ah, okay. I thought it might have been an error or something.
Well, I'm really anxious to buddy read the Sarah J Mass and Cassandra Clare books I mentioned, but if no one want to do it with me I'll just do the buddy read. So really it just depends on if anyone wants to buddy read with me or not.
YOU CAN VOTE NOW!! This poll will decide the group-read for the read-a-thon. Is featured in the group-home-page.
Olivia wrote: "I need someone to buddy read with as well!"Hey, you posted that a while ago, but I was wondering if you were still interested in someone to buddy read with.
My TBR: •We are the Ants (group read)
•Percy Jackson and the Lightning Theif (re-read)
•The Coldest Girl in Coldtown (author)
I’m starting small because I don’t want too many books and then fail at the read-a-thon!! Haha
I was going to buddy read (with Yusra, I think) Together at Midnight and Honor Among Thieves in May. I also have A Darker Shade of Magic scheduled for a May buddy read, but I’m not sure who it was with right now.
@Audrey In the genre page, there are new releases, most read this week and most popular. Just scroll down.
Are we doing more rounds with the same challanges? I may be able to finish two challenges... but there are so many!!
I will be hosting more rounds with different aims and periods of time so don't worry if you don't finish all of them.
Hiii! Mines going pretty well! I've managed to finish 3 books and I'm reading a graphic novel right now. 😊
How's yours going?

I completed 'Emergency Contact' and I wasn't a fan, but I am in the middle of 'To Kill A Kingdom' right now (I am loving it) and I am hoping to finish it either tonight or tomorrow!

That's awesome!! I know this readathon is motivating me to read a lot more books, which i love!!
Olivia wrote: "how is everyone doing with their tbrs? Has anyone finished a book yet? :)"A little behind, but I'm not too worried! I'm several chapters into one book, and I'm doing my first buddy read with another, so I am super happy!

@Warda: I loved We Are The Ants! I hope you enjoy it too once you read it! Good luck on the rest of your tbr for the reading challenge :D

Some people aren't huge fans of it, but I personally loved it to bits! Highly recommended! :)
@Olivia: Yes! The reading challenge is definitely very motivating! Good luck on the rest of your tbr :)))
I actually attempted to do all of the challenges with multiple books. Unfortunately one of my books never came from the library ( yes Imma borrower) so I couldn't complete challenges 7 and 8 ;(. I have finished reading two books though! I read Cress by Marrissa Meyer and Disney at Dawn by Ridley Pearson. And yes Disney at Dawn is a middle grade but it was for the below so many reviews challenge. Now I'm reading These Broken Stars by Aumie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner and then I only have to read Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them screenplay by J.K. Rowling. So yes I have been very busy 😂 but I'm so glad I did this readathon because I was in a little book slump. But now I'm back and so greatful I did this! :)
