Nik Krasno | 19850 comments It's kinda interesting to see how a custom differs between locations. In some places for celebrations like wedding, birth, housewarming or other events guests bring money, while in others - you may choose a present from the list or bring one of your choice, don't bring anything or elect any of the above.
How is it in your place? And what do you prefer to give or take: money or present?

Judith Rand | 16 comments Yes, I agree. When I was married (many many years ago) it was unheard of to give cash. You either looked on the lists or thought of something original which would delight the young couple. Now at weddings there is a sort of safe at the entrance to the wedding hall and you insert an envelope. There is no provision for a gift -it is considered inappropriate to give anything but cash.
