Any other thoughts on the individual stories or the book as a whole?

I loved the last four but was a little frustrated with the first because of Celaena’s immaturity. I very much enjoyed the story arc and character development. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
I also enjoyed the character development but I think that Celaena still has a long way to go to become a completely likable heroine. She still doing some questionable things.
I’m actually okay with her given where she started. Would I like her if I met her today? No. What I’m liking is how the author is evolving her. She doesn’t have the tools or skills to make a miraculous turnaround but the continued outside influences are reshaping her. It’s the path she’s on I find interesting.
I enjoyed that all. I liked how Celeana grew throughout the book and all the characters we met. I'm sure we'll be seeing them all again. Did anyone look at the map in the front of the book to get an idea of where she traveled? There are so many places that weren't touched on and I'm looking forward to learning more about each.

I just looked at that map and will be referring to it throughout the series.
I can’t remember where Sam was from originally. Do either of you recall?
