Oh, yeah. There are a few small typos in Sudden Mission. I find them when I read to audiences. ;-)

A reminder to all participants with an unfinished review:
We have less than two weeks left in this session: our round 2 deadline is Friday 8th June.

Please try to get your review posted (and the links added here) by that date.

Thanks!

—Steve.

Ann | 50 comments Hi Steve and all,

Here is my review for Nod by Brannon

Here is a review by Ann: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I will post the link to amazon when they email me.

This has been fun! I'm looking forward to our summer list.

message 208: by C.S. (new)

C.S. Wachter | 351 comments I guess this would be a question for Steve. Perhaps this isn't the place to ask, and I know you had people already signing up to do the next session. Can I still join? If not, can I join another session later? How do I do that? I'm seeking reviews for both The Sorcerer's Bane and my new book The Light Arises (books one and two of The Seven Words).

message 209: by Brannon (new)

Brannon Hollingsworth (brannon_hollingsworth) | 18 comments Thanks, Ann! :)

BTW, Nod was never intended to be a novel. :D

Thanks for taking part, Ann! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and we've appreciated your contribution. It'll be good to see you again in our summer session!

Yes, as far as I'm concerned there's no restriction on taking part in consecutive sessions—so you'd be welcome, C.S. The only thing is, as you mentioned, we already have quite a few people signed up who were unable to take part in this session. There are only 3 author slots left and 2 reader slots. The fairest way of filling these will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

So the trick will be to watch for my announcement that the session is open for sign-up, and jump in right away! Those already on the list will need to confirm, so if any of them don't show extra places will open up.

I think a lot of people liked this idea, so there's been an initial rush to take part. Hopefully later sessions won't be quite as crowded!

Steve - Thanks. I'll keep my eyes open. If I don't make the next session, I'll try for the one after. Thanks for all your hard work to make this happen.

Yes, that's true. We'll see how demand is in the next session or two, and if it remains high we can consider having parallel sessions. We can also narrow the genre—have a session for hard SF or cyberpunk or any of the other subgenres Lara listed in her recent poll!

message 215: by Brannon (new)

Brannon Hollingsworth (brannon_hollingsworth) | 18 comments Or maybe a session for short fiction. :)

I managed to get it done in time. Here's my Goodreads review of Shiloh's Rising by Sean Elliot Russell.

As soon as I can get Amazon to let me leave one on there, I'll post that as well. I'm having trouble due to lack of purchases in the last month.

Last-minute reminder: This session ends tomorrow!

If you are one of the 6 participants who has not yet posted your second-round review, please do so by tomorrow if at all possible!

Hi Tony,

We do have another session coming up, and we'd love you to be part of it; but I'm afraid it's rather heavily subscribed already. There are currently only 3 author slots and 2 reader slots left—so it will be first come first served to fill those.

I'll soon be making a group-wide announcement to open the sign-up stage, so if you jump in right away you may get in. But if the demand is high enough we may open a second parallel session. Either way, keep watching the group notifications!

Blessings,

—Steve.

Justin wrote: "I'll be like a day or so late, but I hope that's okay."

Lol. Since you asked, Justin, the answer has to be, no it isn't! As you know, most review groups have heavy sanctions on missing the deadline. But we're a Christian group, so we can live with "a day or so"; we just wouldn't want it to get any longer than that.

A note to everyone else: please don't assume from this that the deadlines don't matter! They're there for a purpose, to keep the group focused and make sure all the authors involved receive their reviews in a timely manner. We know 'life happens' and want to be understanding about that; but let's do our best to keep within the time frame for the sake of everyone involved.

Thanks, Sean—and sorry about the trouble you're having with Amazon. We know this happens! So if, as you say, you post the link as soon as they accept the review, that will be fine.

Well folks, that brings us to the end of this review session. Thank you to everyone for taking part!

We've had some fantastic reviews (and some sobering ones!), and some helpful exchanges en route. I've thoroughly enjoyed this experience as well as learning from it; and I hope you have too.

There are still a couple of reviews outstanding; I'm in contact with the people concerned, and I hope these will be posted soon. Note that this thread is staying open just for those posts.

Meanwhile, keep your eyes peeled for news of our next session!
