"A brilliant homage to everyone’s favorite super-spy, and a hilarious, action-packed, made-for-the-movies thriller about a man suavely dancing along both sides of the thin line between heroism and madness.” —Matt Forbeck, New York Times bestselling author of Halo: New Blood

Ali Kiper (kiper) | 3 comments I recently read 007's "the World is not Enough". The plot of the book reminded me the ongoing new "Great Game" in the Middle East and the Central Asia, involving the race for controls of the flow of oil and natural gas as well as ownership of the specialty metals like lithium which are very important in high technology applications. This might partly explain why we are in Afghanistan for so many years.

Haris | 7 comments I would say so. I think it's time this country moves to alternative sources so we don't have to deal with those authoritarian regimes.
Strangely enough, the villain's plot in my book, though comic, seems all too plausible as well.

Ali Kiper (kiper) | 3 comments We are becoming more and more energy sufficient as a nation. However, the USA always feels responsible for the welfare of Europe. And Europe, of course, in general, has no oil and natural gas resources. The European nations depend mostly on Russia, especially, for their natural gas needs. Therefore, this may explain the interest of our government in energy resources in the Middle East and the Central Asia. It is also good business opportunities for the American oil and natural gas companies.
