How does conflict lead to change ?

One conflict that occurred in the book was that Amy had a constant conflict with herself and her alter ego. Her whole life she has been compared to “amazing Amy” the main character in her parents writing. Amazing Amy is the “better” version of their daughter Amy, and she constantly feels like she has to be a reflection of this character, because that’s what her parents want. Part of Amy wants to be like this character, but the other part of her wants to be nothing like amazing Amy, and that’s where the conflict occurs.

Personal conflict leads to change when that person is ready. “Only you know when enough is enough”. If you don’t change then eventually you are left three options, Institutionalization, Death or Prison.
