Notes from Ghost Town is a fictional mystery about a girl named Olivia Tithe. Olivia lives with her father and his fiancé, along with Olivia’s soon to be step sister. Lucas Stern is Olivia’s best friend and almost lover that is always by her side. One day while they’re hanging out together, they kiss and Olivia freaks out. Shortly after the incident, Olivia becomes colorblind. A week later Stern is murdered, and Olivia’s mother is blamed because she is mentally ill. As a result, she is imprisoned. Olivia is skeptical of her mother committing the crime, and seeks to prove her innocence while finding the true killer of Lucas Stern.

This book starts as a romance novel that quickly turns into a murder mystery. I thought it was very intriguing and well-written. It wasn’t confusing and had many plot twists that kept the story interesting. Something I really liked about the book is the characters development throughout the book. My favorite character is probably Austin because of the character development. He starts off as the rich kid that likes himself more than anyone else, then opens up and becomes a sweet and caring boy.
