Cast in Deception question

I have been a loyal fan of the Chronicles of Elantra forever, but this book i found myself sighing, rolling my eyes and and being generally irked.
Than I come on here and I see all the wonderful reviews and I feel like a twat; yet i can't help it. I'm fed up with the general undertone in this story. WHEN will the preaching and blatant condescension towards Kaylin stop? she has saved Elantra 11 times already, and all the dragons, Barrani, Aeriens, fieflords, shadows and readers know it, yet EVERYONE still treats her she's 5 years old and dumb as doorknob.
The entire storyline is filled with people telling her to mind her own business, refusing to explain to her whatever she needs to know and pissing on her when she does what she feels to be right but it happens to be the wrong "political" decision.

And please stop preaching at her and giving dumb examples of comparison that make no sense and explain to her correctly already! It is to say the least, extremely Tiring!

The vagueness on all of the characters is starting to weigh as well. I feel I know nothing of annarion, Mandorin, HOPE, Nightshade, Severn, Bellusdeo...whenever there is an issue no one just wants to come out and say it. Whenever Kaylin speaks, she thinks like a hawk or acts like a hawk (like being a hawk is childish and degrading) All the characters so-called love her and want her safe but they disrespect her and treat her like a severely mentally handicapped 5 year old you need to keep away from an open fire, whilst placing her straight in the flames and than yelling you stupid girl don't touch that! Oh and please we bloody know she's mortal and so very fragile, except she has almost died 10 times now and came through every time. Worse than all these people, who have had ample experience to realise she's no longer a "kittling" or "mascotte"is the fact that KAYLIN HERSELF accepts this treatment by, lets be honest , her peers. The character of Kaylin is in dire need of growing and the side characters need to start being less patronizing and degrading, or does no one agree with me?

She is also the Erenne of Lord Nightshade, capable of killing a dragon in dragon form through pure magical power, a Lord of the High Court, kyuthe of Lord Anteela, kyuthe of the Lord of the West March, kyuthe of the High Lord, friend and equal to the Consort, backup for the Consort, friend of the Tha'laani Castelord, welcome in the Tha'alan, friend of the Keeper, go-between for the Keeper, welcome in the Elemental Garden, priestess of Elemental Water, capable of freeing the dead, capable of carrying True Names, capable of telling stories in the Old Tongue beyond the greatest mages, welcome in the Birthing Caves, student of Sanabalis, claimed friend of Sanabalis, healer, wielder of magic the Dragons find legendary, friend of Lord Tiamaris, friend of Tara, capable of rewriting the words of the Old Ones, Traveller, capable of a feat that killed Old Ones, capable of rewriting True Names, savior and friend of the only living female dragon, former harmoniste, friend of the Hallionne, friend of the Green..."

If Michelle Sagara could step out of that Rut, This series would be back at the top. PS some romance would also be appreciated by now...
