Shadow of the Wolf question

Basically just a set up where that "who am I?" moment that's standard to teens and ya books is compounded with a supernatural "what am I?"I love books where the character is physically changed in some way. Be it do to a curse (Beauty and the Beast), being turned (insert werewolf story here) or just simply something that happens to them because genes (X-men). Unfortunately, it's annoyingly hard to track down those types of books since usually I just find ones where the main character is either a. already like that or b. it's not the main character dealing with this. Anyone got any good recommendations?
