General thoughts(view spoiler)[:
The beginning of the book was a little tough for me. I'm not sure if it was some of the language that took some getting used to or just the historical setting. Regardless, I felt that the story continued to get better and better as it progressed...and when I got deep into the story I enjoyed it immensely. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I didn't really care for her that much in the beginning, but towards the end she grew on me. I liked how she treated people kindly even when she was being held against her will. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[My oh my! I loved how he sacrificed himself for Liberty with the prisoner swap and the way that he escaped was amazing. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I did not see it coming that she was going to have twins! I liked that she waited until Noble came back to name the son, but it could have turned out differently and I wonder how long she would have waited? What if he never would have come back? (hide spoiler)]

And that Hessel was willing to help in the matter was unbelievable! I had thought he was an okay guy, maybe a little smitten with Liberty, but not someone who would help with such a thing. So glad Kate help her escape! (hide spoiler)]
