New to Play Book Tag?
Jemima wrote: "Hi guys. I’m new to this group. Looking forward to meeting you all."Warmest of welcomes, Jemima! I hope you enjoy it here and look forward to seeing what you will read this month!
Hi to all! I was hesitant to join any group because I wasn't sure how well my reading habits/choices can fit structured guidelines, but I love your format and the warm spirit in which you share your reading experiences. I'll start with my pick for the debut novel (March) and historical fiction (April). I have already enjoyed reading many of your choices.

I just joined last month and already it has been so fun to chat with everyone, they are so welcoming and a real joy to talk books with.
Hi all. I just joined, heard of this group from Theresa over in the Popsugar group. I decided to jump in on the "Trim your TBR" challenge,, something I am desperate to do. Will a moderator randomize my list? (Or I can do it myself if you would rather I do that). It´s here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Hi Johanne! Welcome to PBT! So glad you are diving right in. I will randomizes your list a bit later this morning and will post it in the thread you linked to along with some other info. Looking forward to seeing your reviews and getting to know you!

Welcome, Johanne! You have joined a fabulous group here with friendly people and great reading challenges.
Welcome Johanne! Took a look at your list, and I see quite a few fantasy reads there! Love it-we need a few more fans of this genre!
Welcome to PBT Johanne! You are certainly welcome to join our Trim the TBR challenge, but I have to warn you that most of us end up adding to it instead - but that will happen with this group anyway! Have fun!
Thanks for the warm welcome. I am in other GR groups as well, and yes, you end up adding a lot to your tbr ;)Joanne - I read broadly, but fantasy and sci fi are all time favourites!

Yay, another fantasy/sci-fi fan!
Welcome Johanne! I’m excited for you to read a few if that number gets called. Particularly your number 35, The Thirteenth Tale!

Hi, I'm new here. I came to join in with the Trim the Backlist challenge. I discovered this group through Thersa at Popsugar. Can I juat add 36 books or someone suggested the moderator might randomize the list. Let me know how I can begin. Excited to be here!Edit, so I added my books. I don't know how to link to my list.
Welcome, Karen! So pleased to have brought over a couple of PS challengers!NicoleR will randomize your list and update you on where we stand in the challenge and a few rules.

As I said, NicoleR will randomize it for you.
Some good ones there! I loved Magpie Murders, Educated, and Erotic Stories of Punjabi Widows. I have Lillian Boxfish on my nightstand - originally started it on New Years then got side-tracked. Will have to start it again. Maybe we can end up reading at same time - it's to be my PS book taking place in a single day.
Welcome!
Thanks Theresa. I had a hard time whittling it down to 36 books. But there's always next year. Thanks again for informing me about this group. I'm excited to add another way to trim that backlist. And thanks for the link to my list. This Goodreads forum is too old school for me. I need it more automated. 😀 Here's hoping Lillians number comes up.
Here is a link to my list (not randomised yet). Hope to get a few knocked off this year. https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Something went dodgy and number 13 jumped up to between 10 and 11 and it won't let me edit and put it back in place.
Karen and Jen, both of your randomized lists are in your personal tracking thread along with some additional information!
Another newbie question - If the book has the tag "beautiful cover" does that count for the beautiful tag?
Karen wrote: "Another newbie question - If the book has the tag "beautiful cover" does that count for the beautiful tag?"
The monthly tag is not very restrictive-If you think it fits, just explain why in your review-
Johanne wrote: "ahhh good to know Joanne, I thought someone else had to have tagged it with the specific tag."I just posted a review in "Beautiful" that no one tagged as such-if the Moderators find it too far reaching, they will let you know-but in the year I have been here I have not seen that happen
Just chiming in from an admin POV—For the monthly tag, we are extremely flexible with how you define the tags—especially something like "beautiful" which can mean so many different things. If you read a book that fits your definition of "beautiful" then that is good enough for us!
We rarely have to police tags because we are so flexile and PBT members genuinely want to read books that fit the tag, so they don't get too extreme with their tag interpretations. If though, for example, someone tried to claim Harry Potter for a tag like nonfiction, then we would probably call that person on that!
Having said that, we are more strict with tags when it comes to official PBT games. Like, right now, we are playing Trim the TBR and you get some bonus points if you book is tagged the monthly tag. There, the book has to be tagged exactly "beautiful" (not "beautiful cover" or "beautiful writing," etc.) to count. It is how we keep the more competitive games as fair as possible.
Hello there, I may have introduced myself here before, but I'm trying to become more active in groups. :) My name is Maggie, I'm a librarian in Muskoka, and I have two little girls who seem to have inherited my love of books. I enjoy all genres, but seek out family drama more often than the others. When I'm not reading, I like to write, hike, bake, or sing.
Welcome, Maggie!! So great that you share your love of Reading with your daughters! I also enjoy a good family drama novel, so I will for sure be checking out your reviews!
Maggie, you may be more than a book twin to me. When I am not reading, I may be doing plenty of other things. But singing would top the list! I also enjoy hiking, and consider myself a writer. You might read my reviews and decide for yourself if that is indeed true. I would only change a letter, Bike, instead of Bake. Welcome to PBT.
Welcome Maggie! This is a great diverse group. Can't wait to see what books you review and thus have me extending my TBR!
