Okay, I couldn't help myself, I needed to read this book as soon as possible.
The first part was great, which is odd because we aren't introduced to Joan until the last line, but it gives us a backstory to what France was like.
There were a few hints throughout that Joan was about to appear, if you've read it, you will know what I mean.
The annoying this about religion for me is that people rely on it for everything. We won, thank you god, we lost, we must've done something to displease him...
