"Sure. What do you want to do?" He asked as he set his broom down.

"I don't know. Play chess?" Cant looked around. "There has to be something."

"I can't play wizards chess," he said

Cant frowned. "Hmm. What else is there to do?" He began to examine the room, looking around for an activity.

"Um..." He murmured, also unsure

[Lily , The #1 Fangirl]

Cant shrugged. "Okay, I have an idea. You can try and teach me about brooms, and I can try to teach you how to play wizards chess."

"Sure! But you're gonna have to get on one," he said

"Okay. But if I die in a broomstick crash, tell everyone I tried to warn you." Cant said.

He laughed. "Sure," he said. Soon, another Nimbus showed up.

Cant climbed on warily.

"Just push off, and glide," he said as he did it.

Cant did as Mason said, and he managed to get two feet off the ground before the broom began wobbling like crazy.

"Just keep control!" He said quickly.

Cant tried, and managed to get the broom to stop wobbling as much. "I hate brooms." He said.

"You have to be part of it, not force it," he said

"Okay." Cant took a deep breath. Be part of it. he thought. That sounds helpful. If only I knew what it means!

Mason flew a bit higher, and waited for Cant.

Cant followed Mason, trying to breathe evenly. The height they were at was making him dizzy.

"N-not really." Cant said, struggling with his breathing method.

"Why don't we just play chess then?" He slowly drifted to the ground.

Cant slid the broom to the ground and breathed a sigh of relief. "Okay."

"So. How do I play?" He asked

"Have you ever played Muggle chess?" Cant asked.

"Once. I lost," he said shrugging.

"That's okay. I always lose to my older sister." Cant said. "That means you know the basic rules right?"

"Pretty much," he said.

"Great. That's pretty much how to play except you tell your pieces where to move." Cant said. "One side of the board is listed with the alphabet. The other is numbers So if you wanted to move your pawn one space," Cant counted the lines. "Than you would say, 'Pawn 4C.'"

"Okay. Why don't you go first?" He suggested.

"Okay." Cant made his move.

Mason moved his pawn. "You're move," he said

Cant moved again.

Mason moved a knight.

Mason moved his bishop forward.

Suddenly there was a loud clattering noise. "What was that?" Mason said quickly.

Cant stood up. "I don't know."

Mason reached for his wand. "Just to be safe," he told Cant.

Cant grabbed his wand as well.
"Hello?"

A large snake slithered from behind a bunch of boxes, it came right towards them, and fast. "Go go!" Mason shouted, he started stumbling backwards and fell on his back, his wand clattering from his hand.

"Confringo!" Cant yelled. The snake burst into flames.

"That was close," mason breathed.

"Too close." Cant agreed. "I think we should head back now."

"Yeah," mason agreed as he grabbed his wand and stuffed it into his robes.

Cant led Mason back to the Hufflepuff Common Room.
