Camille This Is Where It Ends, written by Marieke Nijkamp, tells the fictional story of a school shooting from the perspective of four different characters. Each character sees the situation differently, but are all connected in some way. Because of the many perspectives, there is never a dull moment in the book, but the stories of each character do not get too tangled together where it is too hard to follow. This book was hard to get through because of the recent tragedies, but I knew it would be a good book that I would get attached to easily. My favorite thing about the book is that some of the characters could not believe the person who was terrorizing the school could do such a thing. This is my favorite part because, although it was challenging to see the sorrow in the characters, there was so much truth to it in our world today. The signs are there for people who are thinking of committing these terrible acts, but the signs are either missed or ignored. I would recommend reading this book, but I would advise everyone to be prepared for what the story is about. Situations like the one in the book are so real in our world that it is hard to read any experiences, whether they are fiction or not.
