'I'm sorry it's so uncertain,' Hannah signed. She really did wish it were more simple.

'Oh, don't worry. I can always make proper arrangements.'

'Are you sure?' she asked, though she still felt pretty bad.

'Positively,' he signed. He bumped her shoulder gently.

She smiled, bumping his shoulder back lightly. At least they were both flexible and she had the next two days off either way.

'Any requests for lunch?' Dev asked her

Hannah shrugged. 'Any type of sandwiches are good to me. Easy to pack for a picnic, after all,' she answered.

He smiled. 'You got it, princess.'

'But don't forget, we'll need a nice and sturdy picnic blanket too,' she added. She wasn't sure she had one, because she honestly couldn't recall the last time she'd been on a picnic.

"I will.... See if I can get one while you are at your brother's house," Dev told her.

'I think the big department store will probably have something that will work,' Hannah signed, thinking that was his best bet.

He smiled awkwardly. "I'll try."

'I'm sure you could ask someone if you have trouble,' she signed and then patted his arm gently.

He nodded. It wasn't that he couldnt do it. He just didn't feel comfortable in a big place like that. But he'd do it for her

She gave him a smile and took a sip of her water since she was finished with her food.

'You are welcome to stay awhile, though I know you have to get back soon,' he signed.

'I can't stay long, but I can stick around a little bit,' she answered.

'What would you like to do?' He asked.

'I would like to stick around if you don't mind,' she signed back, offering a small smile.

'And what should we do here?' He asked, rephrasing his question.

She shrugged one shoulder. 'Do you have movies?'

A few but I haven't had the chance to watch any,' he signed. 'You can pick.'

'Show me what you've got,' she signed, giving him a smile. She liked movies....or else that was what she usually did when she had been alone. And since Dev seemed so uncultured in movies, she just felt she had to educate him.

He put their dishes in the sink then walked with her out to the living room. Under the coffee table was a case of movies.

Hannah waited for him patiently and then followed him. When she saw his little movie collection, she knelt down and started looking through it, hoping to find a really good one.

He stood by the t.v. which he hadn't really used at all and set it up.

She pulled out two old movies she loved and had to take a long moment to decide before finally agreeing with herself on which movie he needed to see first. The Wizard of Oz first, and maybe one day later they could watch The Princess Bride which she always found funny.

Considering most of the movies were medieval war movies, these two struck him as odd but he was curious.
'I'll start it.'

Hannah had noticed the movies were out of place, but with the magic that were in all these cabins, she figured she had subconsciously wanted those two. 'Thank you,' she signed and moved over to the couch to wait for him.

As soon as he was sure it was starting and wasn't too loud, including putting on the subtitles, he sat down beside her.

Once he was sitting too, she moved a little closer to him. She felt oddly cold without Lupe climbing up into her lap and she felt a pang of worry for him, but had to remember he was sleeping back home. Even still, she felt odd.

Dev looked over at her and he paused before signing 'would you like a blanket?'

Hannah chewed her lip before nodding. 'If you have one, please?'

He reached awkwardly over to the end of the couch and pulled down the furry blanket. Then he draped it over her nicely.

She blushed a little and signed a thank you. Why did she feel so awkward all of a sudden?

He smiled and sat back uncomfortably because his arm was at an awkward angle beside her. After a moments hesitation he lightly draped his arm around her.

Honestly, Hannah barely noticed, too busy reading the lines on the movie as it started. She naturally shifted a little closer to him with his arm now moved.

He smiled slightly and went back to paying attention though he had the strange urge to pull her closer to him. He didn't however.

As she often did, she began to doze off about halfway through the movie and by the time Dorothy was stolen by the flying monkeys, she rested her head on his shoulder, too asleep to realize what she was doing. She was warm and comfortable and it was evening...and she'd seen the movie a thousand times before. It was the perfect formula for a nap.

Dev looked down at her and wondered if he should move her. The movie wasn't at all his kind of movie. But he was trying to keep up so he could tell her about it. But all he could seem to do was watch her.

Hannah was sleeping so peacefully and her face clearly showed it. She snuggled a little closer to his side while the movie went on, her dreams replaying the conversation she'd had with her parents.

He adjusted just slightly so he could move his arm closer to her. He hardly realized when Dorothy killed the witch.

The movie took its time in finishing which was just fine because Hannah clearly needed the rest. Her head had been running on overdrive and needed to just take a break for a little while.

Once it was over, Dev sat their silently as the credits rolled. When they were over for quite some time, he looked at her, wishing he could just keep her all night but her dogs were home alone.

He moved her gently to stir her.

Hannah frowned a little when she was moved and she sat up sleepily, rubbing her one eye. She was sleepy up until she realized that she'd fallen asleep on him and she blushed embarrassedly. 'I'm so sorry,' she signed quickly. 'I hope you weren't uncomfortable.'

'It was perfect actually. I didn't even need a blanket,' he signed. Dev smiled at her. 'You needed the rest.'

Her blush deepened a little but she had to laugh too. 'Thank you for letting me rest, at least.'

'Re you ready to go home?' He asked her, even though he didn't want to.
