Michaela (Journey into Books) Hi everyone, I'm Michaela and I'm bisexual. I haven't read nearly enough sapphic books. I'm glad I found this group and can't wait to start reading some amazing f/f books. At the moment my favourite is The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.

Ella (bingqiling) Hi, my name is Ella. I’m just starting to grow into my bisexuality so I really haven’t read any sapphic novels. I’m looking forward to getting some recommendations and ideas of what to read from this group.

message 153: by Lee (new)

Lee Blauersouth | 1 comments Hello, I'm Lee!

I'm a YA scifi author and 35 year old therapist living with my wife and baby in MN. I'm a slow reader because I spend a lot of time on job/family/writing but I'm so happy to have access to the books now that just plain didn't exist when I was younger.

message 154: by [deleted user] (new)

Hey everyone! I'm Emma. I'm a 20 year old bisexual uni student who loves YA lit and getting emo over fictional characters, and I just joined goodreads so I'm really excited to get involved in groups and stuff! I haven't read as many sapphic books as I want to, but my favourites are Everything Leads to You by Nina Lacoeur, Far from you by Tess Sharpe, and Ash by Malinda Lo (also Six of Crows because even though it's TECHNICALLY not canon, Nina is a bi icon). I'm really looking forward to reading about more gay ladies and getting involved! (also praying this won't post 7 times because my internet was being weird when I tried to post it)

Billy (pokemonjesuzzz111111) | 4 comments My name is Billy. Yesterday I started reading the lesbian novel 'Ruby' written by Rosa Guy! I plan to read 'The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo' written by Taylor Jenkins Reid very soon!

message 161: by Damian (new)

Damian Mxyzptlk (sighentist) | 3 comments Hi! My name is Damian. I read Sarah Waters' The Fingersmith in college and fell for it head over heels, so I'm constantly looking for recommendations of other novels/media in similar vein. I'm happy to join the forum!

Amelia (yourlocalbooknerd) | 2 comments Hi; I'm Amelia. I randomly stumbled onto this so I'm super late but hi! Sadly, I haven't read too many sapphic novels (which is on me just as much as it's on the lack of sapphic novels available IMO) but I really love: Annie on my Mind and Wild Beauty by Anna Marie McLemore (bi mc). My pronouns are she/her and I'm v gay.

**update**: also seeing as i just joined @ the end of september i think im going to wait till october to start doing the novels

Sheryl Payea (Payea) | 3 comments Hi everyone. I'm Sheryl. I'm an author with 7 sapphic titles under my belt. I just wanted to say hi and mention there are lots of great books out there to read.

I'm thinking of starting a top 10 chart of new titles available every month. Is that something the group would enjoy?

message 166: by Hannah (last edited Oct 09, 2018 04:33PM) (new)

Hannah Kelly (herfictionalfelicities) Hello! I joined this group because it's hard to find sapphic groups. I really like the When Women Were Warriors series. I also like The Lyremouth Chronicles. My fav lesbian movies are Carol, Blue is the Warmest Color, and Below Her Mouth. I identify as bisexual.

message 167: by Fiona (new)

Fiona (fizzyreads) | 1 comments Hiya! I’m brand new and terrible at using Goodreads. I joined because it’s literally so hard to find good sapphic books!
I really like Things A Bright Girl Can Do ✨
Thank you for helping me find some good books!! Xx

message 168: by Sheryl (new)

Sheryl Payea (Payea) | 3 comments All the best publishers of lesfic list their titles at Bellabooks.com. That's where I shop. I think your mind will be blown at the number of great books there. Another place to peruse sapphic quality books is Golden Crown Literary Society. The annual Goldie Awards attracts some of the best in the genre. You should check out the yearly winners.

message 169: by A (new)

A | 2 comments Abby, 18 (in 2 days but yk), cis (probably), bi, she/her. Jewish anarchist, partial to reading material with Jewish and/or leftist themes. I like to do visual art and theater as well as creative writing.

Lesbian/bi faves: Nevada by Imogen Binnie, Notes of a Crocodile by Qiu Miaojin, Everything Leads to You by Nina LaCour, Rat Bohemia by Sarah Schulman

message 170: by Blue (new)

Blue | 1 comments Hi there, I'm Blue. UK based butch disaster lesbian, I am slowly working my way through the lesbian fiction tag and when im not reading lesbiangst I'm reading children's books with lady protags, Looking forward to adding more books onto my ever growing "to read" list and seeing opinons and such from other sapphics.

message 171: by Sumana (new)

Sumana Gupta | 1 comments Hi, I'm Sumana!
Average bi, but ready to try, who is obsessed with girls, and reading about them! I've read quite a lot of Sapphic books in the past year or so, but I am hoping to find more. One of my favourite books of late is a long way to a small, angry planet. Might be getting that title wrong since it's all adjectives.

message 172: by leo | 飛べ (new)

leo | 飛べ (ofbooksandechos) Hi there, I'm Lau/Casey ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ. I'm a demipanromantic asexual (I know it's a mouthful) from Italy and my preferred pronouns are they/them (even though I'd pretty much answer to anything ^^'). As of now my favourite sapphic books are How to Make a Wish and Not Your Sidekick but I'm sure this will change as soon as I start The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.

message 173: by Myrthe (new)

Myrthe (myrtheasdf) | 2 comments Hiya! I'm Myrthe, I'm 20 years old and I'm a lesbian. I used to think I really wasn't into romance books, until I realised it was just the m/f aspect that I don't like! I'm still slowly getting into reading more f/f books but I've been really enjoying it. My favourite story so far is probably Annie on my Mind :)

message 174: by Nia (new)

Nia Hi! I'm Nia, I'm 17 years old and I'm bisexual. I haven't been able to find many f/f books, but I'm hoping this group will introduce me to some good ones!

message 175: by Ranger (new)

Ranger Liu | 1 comments Hey y’all! I’m Raina, 18 years old, they/them pronouns. i used to identify as a lesbian but now that i’m figuring out gender (and more specifically my lack of one) i’m just going by queer! some of my favorites are The Long Way To A Small Angry Planet, Girl Mans Up, The Dark Wife, and The Edge Of The Abyss....i’m definitely a slut for sci-fi/fantasy and would love to read more queer/sapphic novels in those genres!

⋆˙⟡ Christine ⋆˙⟡ (christinex3) Hiii I’m Christine and I’m 25 years old. I identify as pansexual. Sadly haven’t read many f/f books though I’m planning on changing that but I’d have to say my favorites so far are Girls of paper and fire, pulp, and the seven husbands of evelyn hugo. Currently reading the miseducation of Cameron Post and I feel like it’s gonna break my heart so it’ll most likely be a new favorite.

Also if anyone wants, feel free to add me as a friend on here. I’ve just started to really get into using this app and I would like some friend son here cause I like getting ideas on what to read next based on what others are reading. : )

message 177: by Iris (last edited Aug 19, 2021 10:38AM) (new)

Iris (mountainlillygirl) | 11 comments Hey guys, I'm Iris. I'll be 25 in March and I'm pretty sure I'm a pansexual, though, I guess, I largely like women. I'm not too good with the labels as it took me a really long time to figure out who and what I was attracted to. It's a hard thing to learn about yourself, I think. I've only read a handful of LGBTQIA books and largely to educate myself about myself but obviously I fell in love with them. I'm looking forward to this group; to bond with others. All of my friends and family are straight, straight, straight (but loving and accepting and chill) so this could be cool.

2021 update: Not Pan but ACE. (Asexual) I'm attracted to all genders/gender identities equally, which is to say, not really at all. But everyone is beautiful! =D

message 178: by Ocean (new)

Ocean (goodreadscomsmolmipha) Hi, I'm Anna, I'm a lesbian, and recently I've been trying to find and read all the good wlw literature I can get a hold of at my local library lol. So far my favorites are:

- Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant (SO GOOD)
- The Dark Wife by Sarah Diemer
- Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan

I'm currently working on Fire Logic by Laurie J. Marks and Kushiel's Dart by Jacqueline Carey. I'm still reeling after into the drowning deep tho.

I'd love to find even more through this group!

message 179: by Ace (new)

Ace Hi, I'm Zara and I'm questioning, I joined this group so I can find more books about LGBTQ+ and connect with other people over them!

I love Simon vs. the homosapien agenda, and all of Robin Talley's AMAZING books!, though I'm hoping to find more amazing books as well!

• N • (rusztic) Hey howdy everyone!! I'm a 24-year-old cosmetologist that just so happens to be an equestrian as well~ I'm basically just a bundle of eclectic interests, LOL.

I'm so thrilled to find a reading group purely dedicated to sapphic books!! 👌

In addition to reading, I also love to write, draw, and play videogames in my down time - among other random hobbies.

So far, my sapphic library is PAINFULLY sparse, but (even though they've been mentioned numerous times already), I love the books Of Fire and Stars & The Abyss Surrounds Us.
😍

message 182: by Mira (new)

Mira (miraabdullah) | 2 comments Hi, I'm Mira and if left to my own devices, I'd spend all my life in some dusty old book store, and no one can pull me out! XD I love anything Tolkien, Neil Gaiman and Jeanette Winterson. I love everything f/sf.

I've been on the hunt for some quality f/sf, adventure, mystery, thriller, etc sapphic books, but I rarely found any! I'm not giving up though, so here I'm!

message 183: by Shauna (new)

Shauna (merynne) | 1 comments Here for my daughter. She is 13 and questioning. Want to be supportive, aware, and understanding/accepting. I'd also like to find some good reads for her, hopefully books we could both enjoy and be a way to connect.

message 184: by D (new)

D Dyer | 2 comments Hi I am d. I am a bisexual polyamorous a few years out of college and freelancing among other things. I like all kinds of queer books but particularly fiction. I have two cats and one dog and entirely too many books to count. I’m also a crafter and someone who bakes more than anyone should mostly bread and pastry. Slow River by Nicola Griffith is one of my favorite queer novels also essentially anything by Sarah Waters. And audre lorde, How could I possibly forget that.

I’m 16 years old and my favorite sapphic books include: The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, How to make a wish, Far from you, and Godsgrave (does it count??idk). I’m about to start Her Royal Highnesses too!! I just got the audiobook in Libby and I squealed when I got the notification

message 190: by Leila (new)

Leila (leilaleelalila) | 1 comments Hey! Idk if this group is still active? But a Sapphic Squad sounds like my type of squad so hello hi my name is Leila and I really love fantasy but theres not enough sapphic fantasy??? I'm reading The Priory of the Orange Tree right now and its very sapphic and also all around phenomenal so I'm having a great gay time. My other fantasy sapphic faves are Girls of Paper and Fire and Muse of Nightmares (kind of??? Calixte and Tzara are side characters but they are capital G-A-Y gay so like, I'm counting it also literally Calixte is a queer icon like I cannot she is so iconic and unapologetic). Also, I love the graphic novel Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up with Me so much and I feel it in my SOUL.

message 191: by Sara (new)

Sara Hollingsworth Hello! I'm Sara! I'm 22, going to be 23 next week, I'm bisexual, and I'm a college student doing a double major in Business and Political Science. I'm often very busy but I try to make time to keep up with my reading goals and get through my very, very long reading list. Still, I'm always on the hunt for more books to read and especially books with LGBT main characters and romances. I actually sadly haven't read many f/f romances, more m/m since they seem to be easier to find, but I have read the wonderful Annie on My Mind by Nancy Garden and The Last Place You Look.

I've going to eventually read a few more of the books suggested here since they're on my shelves, and I'm definitely interested in even more suggestions!

message 192: by Dame (new)

Dame (madametaghenant) hi! i’m kaouthar but you can call me kao if it’s too difficult to remember. i’m really into sapphic literature (obviously), all forms of art and writing! i’m getting into making movies as well! i live in amsterdam and have lived here my entire fourteen years. my entire family history for what i know is all moroccan, but i’m not sure. anyways, i hope i can still fit into this group and be taken seriously for once since i am a freshman and people tend to use that to make my opinions sound childish. really hope i didn’t overreact here, have a nice day you all!!

message 193: by MelinaJulia (last edited Sep 23, 2019 12:22PM) (new)

MelinaJulia (melinajuliascottage) | 1 comments Haii, I'm MelinaJulia, 17 (18 in december, yes sagittarius energy) and currently still stuck at highschool! I'm a demisexual who basically just prefers female genitalia, so not specifically gay and yes i've had insane crushes on nonbinary beings, since they can be sooo cute ;w; (cute is for me the same as sexy and hot) and yes i definetly fangirl about curvy beings, since DAANNGG those curves <3
I live in the netherlands but have an international history and still love making such friends. Espically if they can educate me on subjects like disability, POC matters etc. I have an extremely adorable dwarf dachshund called Max who is incredibly adorable and laying next to me right now and like a little bear <3
I also do the bookcase at my LGBTQ+ center, where i continously try to search for books that are actually by LGBTQ+ beings, espically POC books are my main mission to get as much as possible as, since i prefer to get as much as representation as i can get! (for the people who read the books etc.)

My fave list is currently somewhat short on LGBTQ+, since i myself mainly read YA contemporary romance-ish books. espically friend group ones. and the LGBTQ+ list.. i tend to have read them all most of the time. so i currently mainly read girlxboy books since there's nothing left. BUT. my faves;
The Way You Make Me Feel - Maurene Goo
What If It's Us - Becky Albertalli / Adam Silvera
Let It Snow - Maurene Johnson, John Green, Lauren Myracle
The Summer Of Jordi Perez (And The Best Burger in Los Angeles) - Amy Spalding
Leah On The Offbeat - Becky Albertalli

furthermore i also currently am collecting fairytale books! 24 and counting!
Greek myths too. (:

Greetings! MelinaJulia.
PS: yes, i'm waayy to good at talking too much when i get the chance. sorry about that!

message 197: by MeiChi (new)

MeiChi (nightskystarling) is this group still active?

message 198: by Mimi (new)

Mimi | 1 comments Hello! My name is Mimi and my pronouns are they/them! My favorite things include my cats, video games, books (duh!), and soft-boiled eggs.
I haven’t read a lot of wlw books because the ones I found when I was in high school were cringy and made me feel like I was gross for loving women, or they were just Not Good Books. I would like to expand my horizons and find wlw (and other LGBT+ centric) books that don’t make me feel that way.
My favorite genres are historical fiction, fantasy, sci-fi, and horror. I can get into almost anything though!
Thank you so much for letting me join and I can’t wait to get reading! 🧡🌈
