Week 404 (March 15-21) Poems Topic: Bump In The Road

Poet : Edward Davies
We’ve hit another bump in the road
We’re never gonna cope with this major load
We’ve gotta discharge some of this junk
There’s garbage on the roof rack and rubbish in the trunk
We’ve come across a hurdle or two
It’s seriously complex the things we’ve gotta do
We have to just divest from this crap
If I suggest buying something just give me a slap
We have to clear away this debris
Get rid of the detritus that causes misery
We need to have a spring clean quick soon
We’ll haul it on a rocket and send it to the moon
We have to decide what is essential
A spare room full of litter is just so detrimental
We need to boil it down to a few
When you reach my age it’s simply the thing to do.

Poet,

Small
Unavoidable
Life’s way of keeping you humble.
Annoying
Nessary?
Too much happiness is worse than constant pain.
Unpleasent
Unforgiving
Challenging
Justified?
Karma?
Fate?
Subcounsious sabotage
Willing mutilation
Unwanted
As long as you’re alive, you can do better.
Limits
Caution
It’s not wrong to enjoy life.
It’s not wrong to get frustrated.
(I want to be happy!)

By: C P Cabaniss
you pretend to support my dreams,
then lash out in hurtful retaliation
because we don't happen to agree
on every single thing
after letting my heart ache
for more minutes than I care to count
I've come to the conclusion that
you're just another bump in my road
once I'm over you I'll be stronger
and you will be behind me, forever in my past

'I can'
I said that
The red stains
I bled that
The pain
I dread that
Along with the thoughts of loss
But the cost to win
often exhausts
And I'm caught -
Feeling like I've loss again
Unable to move
Have I lost a limb?
No, I'm just stuck in a rut
between giving up and getting up
'I can'
I said that
The mud's not where my bed's at
Every challenge before
I met that
This was just a setback

Note: Apologies as to the contest this week going up so late. I have mentioned what happened in the story thread last contest if anyone has missed my explanation and wondered why I wasn't able to do this. Things have mostly settled now and I appreciate your patience. Thank you!
