How is everyone faring with Middlemarch? I haven't been able to read and started Book 2, 'Old and Young' after a while. The Vincy family seems intriguing.
Syl wrote: "it has become utterly boring. I go to sleep whenever I start reading"I actually laughed out hysterically reading this :D

Picked up after a hiatus, and at one third through... my impression about this book is that, though slow and meandering at times, it teaches me about life. This book is full of advice regarding what to , and what not to, expect in a marriage. And it is as good for 21st century, as it was for the nineteenth.
At end of Chapter 29, changes are slowly occuring and I am keen to follow the lives of Dodo, Celia, Fred and Mary.. along with Lydgate, Sir James and Casaboun.

I can't wear my solemnity too often- else it will go to rags
-Mrs. Cadwallader
into part 4 now... at approx 40%.
I know Kru is more than three quarters done. Who else is continuing with the book?

Kru wrote: "Completed successfully. 5 stars from me. Both for the plot and the writing."Wow kru :-) Great
I have started Book 3, 'Waiting for Death'. Towards the end of Book 2, I wanted to go and tell Dorothea that 'You had this coming!'. I am enamoured by Will Ladislaw. He has fallen in love with Dorothea! I wonder what awaits soon. Now its back to Fred Vincy. He is such a lazy fellow.
Am doing this in starts and jumps. Middle March has been in limbo the past few days . Will pixk it again tonight .
yes Dodo had it coming ... he sounds like her grandfather rather than her husband. Will Ladislow too wouldn't succeed as a husband as their temperaments don't match much.

At 57%..
Casaboun is too full of himself. why does he consider Dorothea his slave? Why does he want s post mortem promise from her?
if I were in Dodos position I would have tortured that old goon 👹

At 70%, Rosamund is indeed a selfish and vain creature. Am appalled st her careless loose whispers and gossips.
Lydgste seems the better of the pair.

Finished 😎
Was worth the effort ... though more of a 3.5 star sort of read.
Will read more of unabridged Eliot by and by..

DONE!!!! I am a snail :D

Rosamund looks dreamy, rather the heroine of old Bollywood movies, imagining her dream man riding upon a white stallion!! :D
