I find a kind of Murphy's law plays out when it comes to books for me. The more books I put on my list for the month, the more time I find to read them LOL OOOPS might have to put off sorting the laundry for a bit but so what? LOL

LOL, NicoleG. And darn it, the laundry, dishes, dust will still be there when we're done (with the book).
And it's better to drown sorrow in books than in illegal, immoral and fattening...well, maybe not the latter but def. the former. lol

I have a list here on GR of books I'm currently reading, but I've also started using a planner so that I can schedule my goals by month and cross them off so that I have a sense of accomplishment, lol.

You do take your reading seriously. And then there's me just picking up a book willy-nilly. Lol. You crack me up, Nicole.
NicoleG wrote: "I do the same thing as the other Nicole. We are very serious readers lol"I need to take a page from your books so to speak and make a reading list instead of a chore list lol. I prefer your list to mine.
Although there is something very satisfying about crossing things off.
Did I agree to host Chocolates? I can't find a post, though I meant to offer. I don't think anyone else has offered either. I did get it on Kindle.
Mark Pghfan wrote: "Did I agree to host Chocolates? I can't find a post, though I meant to offer. I don't think anyone else has offered either. I did get it on Kindle."I offered to host 13 Chocolates if no one else had so if you'd rather host Marsh that would work out.
Yes, Allison. That works out fine-- I realized my mistake soon enough! I am planning on reading and participating in book books for April.
Have we confirmed that it will be Death in Ecstasy yet? Or still deciding? I'm going to pick up the Audible version as soon as a decision is made.
Chocolates host -- If it'll help, let me know if you'd like the few notes from author re: leading up to book discussion. Or no. It's good either way.
Tina wrote: "Chocolates host -- If it'll help, let me know if you'd like the few notes from author re: leading up to book discussion. Or no. It's good either way."Sure! That would be nice if you want to send them.
Mark Pghfan wrote: "I guess I am hosting the Marsh book. To start April 2, if that works for anyone participating."That works for me, Mark! I picked up the Audible version. Let me know when you decide on the first section and I'll start listening. On a side note: currently listening to Busman's Honeymoon (Lord Peter Wimsey - love him!!!). :-)

Thanks, Mark. Appreciate it!

Nicole: I think I will need to look into Audible. I have a lot of the Wimsey books on CD, unabridged, which I listen to in the car. But Busman's Honeymoon is not available (at least when I looked last). And I do love the Wimsey books! And the radio shows, and TV adaptations!

I haven't seen any of the tv adaptions yet, I'm going to look for them. :-)
Happy April!! I am putting Thirteen Chocolates on my Currently Reading shelf as of today! I don't have Death in Ecstasy yet but will check the library!
I think we are planning to start Thirteen Chocolates right away, so I will put off Death in Ecstasy for a little bit, until we are ready! I started 13 yesterday, so I'm ready for that.
Did anyone look at the chapter list for Thirteen Chocolates? They go from 13 to 1 LOL Also, there's a chocolates score card! What????? SO COOL!!!!!!!!!
Finished the 13 book a week ago so I'm ready anytime. As for Death In Ecstasy, is there a film version w/the blond Lord Wimsey and Harriet? I love both Wimsey series but with a slight edge to the male/female duo. Anyway, would love to see that movie version.
NicoleG wrote: "Tina, do you know what the chapter breakdown will be?"
No, NicoleG. I don't. I imagine it'll be up soon. :-)

Sorry Tina I saw you posted that you finished reading Chocolates already and thought you were hosting lol now I remember it was Allison since we told her she had to go sample 13 different chocolates lol
I think you mixed up Sayers and Marsh, Tina. There were some Marsh TV adaptations done in the early 1990's, with Patrick Malahide and Belinda Lang (Mrs. Hugh Fraser, in real life!) I have eight of them, though this book is not one of them.
So sorry gang, I thought we were doing Death in Ecstasy first. You all are ahead of me. I will post 1st link and Chapter breakdiwns tonight. In the meantime, get a box of chocolates for sampling, lol.

I love that the chapters run backwards LOL I printed out a "score card" although I haven't read enough to figure out what to do with it yet! I was thinking of picking up some chocolates this weekend!

I did get them confused, Nicole and Pghfan but do want to see episode where Wimsey and Harriet are wed. I probably already have but would love a refresher. :-)

Chapter backward count is a clever move on author's part. Fun!

I printed the score card, too! I've already crossed off 3 chocolates. :-)

There is no TV adaptation of Busman's Honeymoon, however. And the book starts out with them already married. In the TV version of Gaudy Night, they final kiss and agree to marry, but no wedding there, either.
Allison, I would be willing to start Death in Ecstasy right now, if you'd like. I've finished the book already and any others can pick up as we go along. I'm just starting 13 Chocolates now. I wanted to get into in last night, but just didn't feel up to reading and went to bed!

LOVE this book and chocolate idea whoever suggested it. We should do more book/food themed reads.

Thanks for the update, Pghfan. I may have already seen Gaudy but if not, I want to add it to my collection. Thanks for helping fill in my data! ;-)

I agree, Allison. That was what I had in mind for Crepes of Wrath. Maybe too much food for one month's reading. lol ;-)
