Dooter Tooter | 1 comments Hey,

Any books that have two parallel worlds/universes that are at war with each other?

Thanks!

Brenda Clough (brendaclough) | 964 comments There is certainly a comic book. In DC's EARTH 3 series various versions of Superman, Batman, etc. battle each other.

Nokomis.FL (nokomisfl) | 32 comments I've enjoyed these types of stories since I first saw Star Trek's 'Mirror, Mirror' episode as a child.

Here is a list of parallel universe stories I found. I'm sure I have an anthology in the stacks, but for the moment I'll let you peruse this list.

One book that I have is Apertures by Darrell Bain, but I've yet to read it.

It's about a sci-fi world and a fantasy world that run into each other with portal magic/science then go to war...too bad it's on hiatus.

John Siers | 256 comments Hell's Gate (David Weber / Linda Evans) was the first book in a series and it was (IMHO) a good one. It involved a meeting (via a "gate" - portal between variants of the same universe) between two societies -- one of conventional science, one of magic.

The second book was Hell Hath No Fury, and it was also good but it left all the major conflicts unresolved. Then a couple of years went by with no third book (though David Weber continues to write in other series as usual). I spoke with Tony Weiskopf of Baen Books at MidSouthCon in March, and she told me Baen had found another writer to take up the Hell's Gate series, and that a new book would be out soon. Didn't get an exact publication date.

Benjamin (beniowa79) | 383 comments I think Kameron Hurley's upcoming book, The Mirror Empire, is supposed to have parallel worlds at war with each other as a major element of the plot.

Mpauli If I'm not mistaken in Raymond Feist's fantasy saga at least the first trilogy has one universe (Kelewan) attacking another (Midkemia).

First book would be Magician
