Sandi walked along the main bridge, troubled. She couldn't find her favorite pencil, and she had looked everywhere for it.

Scorpius Malfoy walked onto the main bridge mostly because it was a nice day, and it had a good view.

Sandi looked through her pockets again, not really expecting to find it. If only she could use magic. She had put a spell on it, so no one could charm or hex it. Except, apparently that meant she couldn't use magic to find it either. "Why did I have to be so paranoid?" Sandi asked herself.

"Should I take it that that was a rhetorical question?" Scorpius asked. He had been walking right behind the girl when she had asked. "Hello by the way. I'm Scorpius. What's your name?"

"Oh." Sandi blushed. She hadn't even noticed Scorpius. "S-Sandi." She mumbled.

"Nice name," Scorpius commented. "What year are you?"

"Fifth." Sandi said, picking at a thread of her robe.

"Cool. I'm in third," Scorpius replied. "You alright?"

Sandi nodded. She hated talking to people. Her words always got jumbled up. "Uh. Fine. Yeah. Pencil." She winced. Like that.

"I hope you're not trying to say you're a pencil," Scorpius joked. "If you're looking for one, maybe I could help?"

Sandi shook her head again. "I-I just can't find it."

"Where did you last see it?" Scorpius asked.

Sandi shook her head. "It was in my notebook, I know it was. But its not anymore. I just don't know."

"Where do you last remember having it? When did you put it in the notebook last?" Scorpius asked, trying to get her to remember.

"Last night. Before I went to bed, I was sketching, and I put in my notebook." Sandi said.

"Well, as I can't go up into the Gryffindor girls' rooms, I can't look there. Do you know where you've been since then?" Scorpius said, trying to use logical reasoning to determine its location.

Sandi thought. "Well, I went to all my classes, but I never took it out of my bag. I took it out in the greenhouse for a little bit, but all I did was look through some of the pages. I didn't touch my pencil."

"Maybe it fell out while you were looking through your notebook. Do you want to go look for it there?" he asked.
