I'll keep my review spoiler free, I think the movie did a great job keeping to the spirit of the story. There were lots of changes but the basic story is there. The screenwritter(s) did a good job dodging some of the problems with the story such as the abrupt ending. My wife and daughter, who haven't read the book, had a little trouble with some of the details but not much and they really enjoyed the story.
I teared up almost immediately, and cried through most of it. It dredged up a lot of pre-teen/teen feelings!I liked it a lot. It was a little spoon feedy, missed a few marks, but I think overall it was a good interpretation. The actors were adorable. Storm Reid was a fantastic Meg. Levi Miller was a sweet, earnest Calvin.
I was the only one in our group of friends that liked it.
Three of my friends saw it last night. The one who had read the book thought it was okay but not great. The two who hadn't read the book thought it was a muddled mess.

I liked it in the beginning, but after a while it stopped making sense for me. Oprah had nice makeup. I haven't read the book. Also, I think if a girl wants to flatiron her hair, she should go right ahead.

Warning this may be a spoil-tastic thread! :)
