Well....I didn't listen to the game, but i'm amazed the Giants pulled that one off, after two defeats this season from their arch rivals. I was convinced they wouldn't win, so didn't tune in....maybe that was their good luck charm....that I wasn't cheering them on! I must be jinxed! Good stuff.....now to stuff those pesky pies next! :)Oh and well done Nick & Tech...and premature birthday wishes to Blastro…...a lotta candles getting blown out this week!

Well I could be wrong, even after living here for 42 years I still don't really understand the system but I think the rationale is:
Eagles won, therefore they get a week's rest (same as Richmond who won on Friday night). The losing side - Collingwood - gets a second chance and because they finished higher on the home and away ladder, they get the home advantage and the Giants travel to play them.

Ah nice one you lovely lot. Our daughter's 18th a week ago so that kinda blew my 47th outta the water! Not to mention her fella's birthday's tomorrow. We were off down Derby Sat night to Cosmo - huge restaurant which (to me at least) looks like the resulting offspring from an affair between a nightclub and a supermarket!! A buffet type thing so once booked, one can just keep going back for whatever over n over ad fin. Said daughter and fella are both rockers, and so are most of their friends so our table (well I say table - more like 'area' as there wuz 24 of us) was slightly akin to a heavy metal concert taking a dinner break! : ) Nah, to be fair to the young uns, they turned up smart. Also, with me being familiar with the 'Way of the hairy/metal-head' it put straight to bed any awkward moments where conversation's a struggle with folk ya don't know. They even have appreciation for older rock/metal bands so can't fault em at all.
Everyone had a good night anyways.
Hey, I've not had any of me cake yet. Might have to put that right.

A courageous display by the Demons. Hawthorn are always a tough nut to crack and they got to within two goals in the final quarter. Just when you thought they were going to run over the Dees, back they surged. So it's goodbye Hawks and the Dees are off to Perth next week to take on the Eagles.
Well..that was rubbish then...I got ..zip!
Sorry for being late with the results. I was out at a gig last night - four bands, luckily all kept to the script, but it was a 12pm finish and by the time I got home (tram, train, bus & car) it was 1.30am and I was straight to bed.It was funny at the club watching everyone checking their phones for scores. The bands were the worst offenders! Two of them were from N.S.W. and were desperately following the rugby league scores. Their team (the Rabbitohs) won by a point (score shouted from the audience mid-set) so they were very happy bunnies.
From what I have heard, Collingwood always looked the winner even though they only led by 3 points at the last change.
