"BALL UP!" - Val's 2018 Aussie Rules Footy Tipping *Open to Everyone*
YAYYY!!! - Congratulations Sj!!! ;o>I wonder what tech's reaction will be when he gets home from his Holidays?!! ;oO
Congrats to Steve, Phil & Anita.Just checked and aside from a full house achieved during the bye weeks, that's the first two players to get a proper full house this season! Nicely done chaps...….if only I'd gone with my instincts and punted the Swans!
Well, the top places are safe between Tech and Steve..but who'll get 3rd place? Sussex, me..or even Anita now has a decent chance! :-)

FoeYou’ve mixed up your birdies, - Swans are playing Hawks so you can’t have both, and you’ve missed the Blues/Crows match. ;-)

Thanks Lez, and cheers for the e-mail. :-)
My head's not in the right place at the moment. I had a weird turn on Monday night as I was driving. All of a sudden the road started spinning, exactly as if you were to run around in a circle very fast and then stop. Fortunately I was a few seconds away from my wife's house and I managed to navigate the car into her drive. Luckily as well was the fact that my daughter turned up at the same time, so I got her to get my wife. I couldn't stand up straight as everything was spinning. When I got to her bed there was no change and to cut a very long story short, having seen my doctor yesterday it turned out I have Labrynthitis more commonly known as vertigo. I also have high blood pressure, so I'm going in for blood tests next Tuesday. Did scare the hell out of me at the time as I didn't know what was going on. :-(

My head's..."
That must’ve been really scary, Nick. Hope they can fix it. I’ve had extreme dizziness for over 2 years and my doctor thought that was what I had but my symptoms don’t fit. I think someone else on here had it, possibly Jemma?

Good luck and good health everyone. Thanks Val for all your hard work
Sorry to hear about your vertigo Nick. That would have been a terrifying experience while driving. I hope the blood tests lead to a useful treatment and that you are able to get the vertigo under control. Stay healthy everyone!!!
Thanks guys. :-) I hope your dizziness isn't anything serious Lez, I know a lot of the time it can be an imbalance to do with your ears.
Foe - there'll probably put ya on Propranolol (Beta Blockers) or something similar. That's what I'm on for high blood pressure. No bother and no side effects or owt. Horrid experience ya had tho. Glad yer ok.Hey, take it easy bud, ya know where I am if ya wanna chat

Cheers Blastro appreciate that mate, the doctor did mention Beta blockers but was curious to know what was causing it. Had my blood pressure taken again today, 150/100, and again tomorrow to get a mean average. Only bummer is I can't drink alcohol with the anti vertigo tablets. :-(

Okay then, last roll of the dice..again one or two tight ones to predict. Given the history between the Swans & Hawks & how tight their matches are..i wouldn't be at all surprised if this game ends in a draw. Also, can the injury racked Giants hold their own against the Dees? The Gs history suggests yes...but I dunno, maybe not this time….& I wonder which game will produce the upset? Who knows?! :-)Bombers - 7

PS Hope you're feeling better now Nick....had a few dizzy spells in my time, myself..but I get the opposite problem than you've got, low blood pressure....so the dizziness tends to occur when I stand my lanky frame up too quickly! Take it easy bud.

Oops, right margin, wrong team! 🤬"
Thought so :-D
Well I've only just got home so I missed all the excitement (or non-excitement in Suzy's case)Tonight's result:
Port Adelaide Power (Grizzly) v Essendon Bombers (Val)
1.1.7 (Q1) 6.4.40
5.6.36 (Q2) 9.7.61
9.7.61 (Q3) 15.8.98
13.11.89 (Q4) 17.9.111
Great to see my lads going out on a high and leading all evening. I thought Port (always strong at home) would come back hard after last week's defeat, but not so. The winner of the closest margin is Blastro (Dons by 19) so $6.00 wends its way to Zaidee's Rainbow Foundation. Well done that man!
Damn!!
Nearly made myself late for work getting my punt in last night, forgot to put the bin out on the way to work so that hasn't been emptied and then my team lose!
That's three lots of bad so now, hopefully, I'm due some good fortune :)
Well done Blastro :)

Congratulations Blastro! Dean & Anita gorn AWOL it seems. Mind you..Anita might be suffering from sugar hangover from the twins b'day do! :)
Well done Blastro! I’m furious with myself. I’d written Bombers on my bit of paper but posted Port. C & p strikes again :-(
Hi Val,I know I've missed the first first game and maybe more.I'll punt and hope that not too many have been played

I really thought the Cats had romped in with the highest score when along came the Crows to say "You think that's a high score? THIS is a high score!"
The Bulldogs made Richmond fight every last inch and Freo gave the Pies a real scare over in the west. The latter game and the Hawks/Swans game were crucial as to where teams finish in the Top 8. it's the difference between a home final and travelling the width of the country. I really thought the Swans had it in the bag but discount the Hawks at your peril and Sydney's injury list was also a major contributor.
There are still a number of permutations as to Finals line-ups - see:
https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/the-...
but all will be revealed by tomorrow night.
Obviously I haven't done the final tally yet, but I suspect Steve may have done a Steven Bradbury!
Anita wrote: "Hi Val,I know I've missed the first first game and maybe more.I'll punt and hope that not too many have been played..."
No worries Anita. I'll accept your tips as your results won't change anything, but as you'll see from the results I've just posted, you haven't been that lucky I'm afraid.
I'm not sure what doing a Steven Bradbury is? ... but so long as it isn't anything that involves a Mop & Bucket and Sj is happy with it ... then YAYYY!!! ;o>
aw, $*£&! have i gone and blown it again? assuming what's good for steven bradbury and steve is bad for me?
I feel so sorry for Steven Bradbury - his name has passed into Australian folklore but he is such a good sport and always takes it on the chin. He can laugh at himself:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jagh3...
Sometimes we find good fortune and sometimes good fortune finds us. It looks like it was all just meant to be - and I think that he should still be very proud of himself ;o>
Just reading about him - he broke his neck (C4 and C5) in 2000 and his head and neck are full of ironmongery. Nice he’s had some good luck!
Well..that's it, another season all done and dusted, just the knock out rounds left, and I finally got a full house at last...yay! And I think.....Suzy may have just reaped a wooden spoon this week, nice way to end the season. :)Just the knock outs left...and after the way GWS played today...which was rubbish..i really can't see them beating their closest rivals next weekend.
Late but in earnest.Today's results:
Brisbane Lions (David) v West Coast Eagles (Sussex)
4.0.24 (Q1) 5.4.34
4.2.26 (Q2) 9.7.61
7.6.48 (Q3) 12.12.84
11.6.72 (Q4) 14.14.98
Melbourne Demons (TheFoe) v Greater Western Sydney Giants (Duke)
4.2.26 (Q1) 4.1.25
7.6.48 (Q2) 5.5.35
12.9.81 (Q3) 5.8.38
15.12.102 (Q4) 8.9.57
St Kilda Saints (Lez) v North Melbourne Kangaroos (Steve)
3.3.21 (Q1) 6.7.43
6.4.40 (Q2) 11.9.75
11.6.72 (Q3) 14.11.95
14.10.94 (Q4) 17.15.117
I watched the Demons/Giants game and as Duke said, above, the Giants were so disappointing. Even allowing for injuries, they were totally inept. I thought only 3, maybe 4, players could hold their heads up. They'll need to get their act together for next week. After the two earlier games (both of which had important outcomes for positions in the eight), the Saints/North game was a real fizzer because absolutely nothing was at stake. Even wishing on a star for Ben Brown to kick a career best 8 goals wasn't going to lift this game.
