Apologies for being AWOL. I was called up for two days baby-sitting while younger daughter battles the last three weeks of her Open University degree. She started it in 2013, then moved 680 miles to South Australia, kept going, got a job there, planned her wedding, moved back to Melbourne, still working for her South Australian employer, had a baby, is nearly six months pregnant with Baby 2.0, still working for South Australia, flies back and forth regularly, hasn't missed a beat and has maintained a High Distinction average throughout. I couldn't be prouder of her so roll on August 29th when it will all be over. Or will it? She has spoken about doing a Master's but I think she will give it a rest for at least a year while she masters a two year old and a newborn. And credit too to her other half who is a star husband and father.Sunday's results:
North Melbourne Kangaroos (Steve) v Western Bulldogs (Blastro)
2.2.14 (Q1) 1.4.10

You must be so proud of your daughter, Val. She sounds amazing! My sister did an OU degree in Earth Sciences a few years ago, took her 6 years, then she did another module in Neurology and kept a realistic plastic brain in a drawer. Disconcerting.

Good luck! Hope tonight is a belter!
The magic number was 5. I was going to go 4 but saw Grizzly had 3 and Suzy 7 so I went in the middle. All to no avail of course because we lost, boo-hoo.Tonight's result:
Richmond Tigers (Philip) v Essendon Bombers (Val)
4.0.24 (Q1) 2.3.15
5.6.36 (Q2) 4.4.28
10.8.68 (Q3) 6.5.41
12.9.81 (Q4) 11.7.73
Only by 8 points thanks to a last quarter fight back but still not good enough. Anita is this week's winner of the closest margin. Her tip of Richmond by 12 sees $6.00 going to the Mirabel Foundation. Well done Anita!
Well, that ended up a tight one, Bombers gave the stripy ones a run for their money, especially in that last quarter.
